Re: SFP info dont appear in ROS v7 x86

Hello, I've installed ROS 7.1b2 iso on a Supermicro server with x710 and 82599ES chipset cards, and I saw that all information related to SFP are not displayed on both. There is any plan to fix this? Re: Feature Request for x86 and CHR for SFP Menu tab

As CHR runs in a virtual environment, all NICs/SFPs are managed by the host environment. When it comes to x86 'bare metal' setups, support for NIC drivers is limited. That is not typically true in all circumstance. Like most of us do for nvme disk, you can directly assign them to the VM to have the...

Re: Feature Request for x86 and CHR for SFP Menu tab

For x86 and CHR there is no SFP menu tab . Hope to add this feature in future release +1111111111 for this. Any news? I'm switching from a RB5009 to a CHR but the missing SFP tab is a pain point that must be addressed, even just saying which exact Ethernet SFP card is supported if it's a problem of...

Re: CHR on Proxmox - no DHCP lease on LAN [SOLVED]

Sure enough, it seems Intel I226-LM has this issue because of Intel vPro. Strangely, AMT is disabled in BIOS, but I guess Intel does what Intel does. Changed the CHR nics to X710 and the issue has been fixed instantly. So, PSA: Do NOT use Intel I226-LM (with Intel vPro) nics with Proxmox while havi...

Re: Mini PC for Router OS

I've the MS-01, using CHR in a VM with Proxmox. It's really a beast machine, but if you're looking to make also some other VM, it's really a good option, except some "minor" issue. The worst part to me, is that even passing the whole X710 board to the CHR VM, I'm not able to see the SFP TA...

Re: HGSMII for 2.5 Gbps link

I've the same problem. I was super happy about my ISP upgrade from 1Gbps to 2.5Gbps, but in the end I can't use it at all. I'm running the RB5009 and I was super happy since I can get 2.5Gb from a single device, the main reason why I bought this router actually, but it ended up that I can't get out ...

Re: RB5009 support

... So yes, it is the way that one power source (with the highest voltage) is used for all power consumption, the rest of power sources are stand-by. ... Thanks very detailed explanation, I just need now to rethink my "power backup" plan, since I would like to have the the standard power ...

Re: RB5009 support

Really excited about the RB5009, I'm testing right now and the performance it's absolute over-killing compared to my OLD RB2011! Not sure if it's make improvement also from RB4011 that I've used elsewhere and I can't directly compare, but the gap it's impressive with the RB2011 managing dual 1Gbps W...

Re: Manage two internet connection - No load balancing needed

That likely hardware limitation, if you take a look at block diagram https://i.mt.lv/cdn/rb_files/RB2011UiAS-160620170308.png total bandwidth from cpu to 1gb switch is 1gb, so you're very close to it. and for natting you need to pass over cpu, so that's your limitation. If you wnat the "last d...

Re: Manage two internet connection - No load balancing needed

What cpu usage do you see under speedtest? But I do indeed suspect that you're hitting the limit of 2011. During simultaneous speed test I see some "throttling" about 15% - 25% CPU, it's not particular high value. The problem could be the "bridging" and how the port are hardwall...

Re: Manage two internet connection - No load balancing needed

don't remove the fasttrack rule, it will reduce cpu load and improve the throughput. Just add the route rule on top of your previous config (eventually you could remove the mangle rules) Re-Enabling the fast track the speed connection seams now works really good, both internet connection are now hi...

Re: Manage two internet connection - No load balancing needed

There was "add" missing... yes, I finally add that rule and removed the fasttrack. Now it's really going better on the second internet connection, but both connection are downloading less then 200mbps, even not simultaneously testing the speed. Is the rb2011 not powerful enough? seams str...

Re: Manage two internet connection - No load balancing needed

Hey Note: better to include material in forum itself, so it remains complete I think your problem relates to this line: add action=fasttrack-connection chain=forward comment="defconf: fasttrack" connection-state=established,related all of your connections are fasttracked and that bypasses...

Manage two internet connection - No load balancing needed

Hi, I have the RB2011 and I would like to use it for manage two internet connection, not with the load balancing or fail over functionality. I Would like to route all the device wired and wireless with the internet connection 1 ( SFP ) and only one computer with specific IP address use ( and receive...

Re: DHCP client option 60

In v6 it is possible to add custom options to DHCP client. Thank you! I confirm that configuration for option 60 is now possible and is working fine (tested on 6.0rc7) :D Hi, I'm currently "playing" with the online demo page ( my device is on the way! ) and looking how/where set this opti...
