Re: omnitik 5 POE daisy chaining.

For those who are curious this is the response to me: Since you are using CRS328 as a power source to power daisy-chained Omnitik 5 PoE. CRS328 limits voltage when detecting hight inrush current which occurs when you connect second Omnitik 5 PoE. When you are using Powerbox (it has dump PoE injector...

Re: ccr1016-12s copper SFP question

Yup, the Atheros-based Mikrotik module supports auto-negociation, and just works.

I haven't seen any 'OEM' modules that are non-marvell based, so my experience may be different than yours. I tried them in CCRs and found that they're not worth the headache.
Great Thanks!

Re: ccr1016-12s copper SFP question

Most likely you have a module with a Marvell chipset. They don't do Auto-negociation (only work in 1000/full forced), same config required at the other end. Solution: Use the MTK copper module. Will save you a lifetime of headaches. I actually hard coded the 1gbps. still having the problem... you m...

ccr1016-12s copper SFP question

Hi All, I am using a non MT SPF RJ45. Seems that everytime I reboot my router I need to reseat the SFP. Basically the router OS should already be running before you plug the copper SFP in for it to work. So, if you are remote and did a reboot then the copper interfaces would not come up.... Can anyo...

I hope it isnt bad ressurecting a thread.. Anyone successful modding crs328? Since it is dual voltage supply.. Anyone figured how many watts per powersupply ( boost converter) is needed?

Still planning if it is practical to do a 24v or 48v conversion..

Just fyi,
You could actually use the same port. Just point it to the same interface or bridge. Got it to work. Without any credential to either pppoe ot hotspot the connected device won't have internet.

Re: Hotspot + pppoe in 1 port

Interesting idea. Not tried but I'd imagine you will need VLAN so the PPPoE and Wireless network are separate. you can probably put them on the same interface without VLAN but that means running a DHCP server on this interface for hotspot users, while PPPoE users can also pick up an IP address from...
