supout.rif rescue

I was upgrading a router and the upgrade didn't take. I went and got the router from my wireless tower, and was going to do a netinstall upgrade. Told it to keep the old configuration, and it tried. NetInstall didn't work! I tried a CD install, and it seems to be alright as of now, but i'm not holdi...

You don't have to put the WDS interface in a bridge by any means. You should be able to assign everything to your wds interface (IP addresses, dhcp server, etc) and have it all work. I don't think that your current setup hurts anything though, i've done it that way in a couple areas.

You can get a list of known ad serving hosts/ip addresses and change their domain name resolution locally. Thats what I do. Of course, you will want to be careful not to block any that could cause issues with major search engines (overture?)

Btest Server not responding

Maybe this is a release issue, it worked on .25, upgraded to .26 and it seems not to work in this scenario: I try a MT to MT speed test, get results just fine. I dl the windows speed test client/server, and try to speed test (UDP) to same MT router. It errors out saying can't connect. I try the MT t...

channels are 2432 g and 2462 b. CPU load is not extreme by any means whatsoever.

Maybe its that the point to point is a WDS link, i'm still not for sure about a WDS point to point link.

My disclaimer is simple: i know nothing.

But here are my thoughts -

you are an ISP and you want to give higher priorities to packets travelling from your billing server (so people can view their bills with quicker data rates than they can download files).

Point to Point links

WDS halves throughput for each WDS device you add, so i hear. I want a point to point link for a backhaul, and only a backhaul. Right now i have this link set up using WDS, and I'm thinking it's not optimal. For point to point links such as that, dont you set one up as a station, one up as a bridge,...

I'd like to know this myself, what is keeping people from connecting to these backhauls and breaking them? Does anyone recommend using WEP?

Poorer than expected throughput

I have a MT point to point link on 802.11G (24Mbps) and i'm getting between 5-10 megs throughput from one to another. The second of the two has an 802.11b AP on another wireless card. From my computer client to that AP i can get about 3 megs. From my computer to the first point to point link (going ...

I'm looking more for a thing i can copy and paste to a terminal during a hasty rescue attempt :D I did notice that feature tough. A few things the command listings would be helpful for are seeing the differences in the configs between two routers, or verifying that your config hasn't changed (or if ...

Configuration Commands Export

Is there a certain command that will export *ALL* of the current configuration commands of the MT Router? This would be much like a cisco "show running config"command. I was going to comb through the documentation, but it seems I can't access that right now!

Thanks

RF Calculators, Antenna Types, Amplifier recommendations

I am trying to make a 11.4 mile link at 5.8 GHz. I have two dish antennas rated at 23 dB, will be using LMR600 cables probably no longer than 10 feet on RX side, and 40 feet on TX side. I am using an Atheros card rated (from my understanding) at 65mW. I clear the required Fresnel zone easily, but I ...
