Re: WinBox v3.40 released!

I have an problem with WinBox. When I use the "System / Reboot" command from the GUI, I am prompted to confirm, and I select Yes, however after the Winbox window automatically closes, I log back into the device and I see that it has not rebooted. The only way I can reboot a device using Wi...

Re: v7.5 [stable] is released!

All devices with ARM cpu's are coming up at the wrong frequency after the 7.4.1 to 7.5 upgrade. You see this in the System / RouterBOARD menu. A warning appears that the cpu is not running at the default frequency. Clicking on the "Settings" button, you see it is incorrectly set to 716MHz ...

Re: Vonage SIP Problems

I am writing to advise of a problem I encountered with a CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ that was upgraded to v7.1.1. Why did you upgrade it? The issue you describe is known, and there should be no reason to upgrade a CCR router to 7.1.1 unless maybe you want higher performance BGP and are working in an experime...

Vonage SIP Problems

I am writing to advise of a problem I encountered with a CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ that was upgraded to v7.1.1. I received a call from the client that their Vonage VOIP service was not working. At first I thought it was a problem with the Vonage VTA adaptor and I proceeded to replace it with a spare. After ...

Disable Unused Packages

I installed V7.1.1 on my personal RB4011 today. I was very disappointed to see that routeros is now one large, single package. I would have liked to retain the V6 ability to disable unused packages. For example, the wireless and hotspot packages on devices with no radios, ipv6, mpls and routing. I h...

I think the moral to this story is to avoid majors (6.48) and wait until the first minor (6.48.1)

Did this update break anyone else's pwr line setup? I have a pwr line pro and at the other end of pwr line AP and the link between them is now incredibly unstable. I had to downgrade to 6.47.8 to restore connectivity.

Looks like connecting to local devices is now broken. I can't connect to my router or switch at 192.168.10.x Legacy mode, which I've never had to use before, doesn't work either. Gets stuck on "logging in" permanently. Both are up to date on latest packages and firmware. Back to 3.21 I gu...

Coming up a month after 3.22 was released... any ETA on when the window resizing will be fixed. It is very annoying when you have a dozen windows open.

Re: Winbox v3.21 released!

Log entry DPI issue already fixed in internal build.
How did they fix this? I reported above that the log window columns crop the data at the right side edge because the columns are too narrow in the zoomed view. They also lack headers to be able to manually resize them to the desired width.

Re: Winbox v3.21 released!

I got V3.21 working. I cannot explain why, but this worked. Opening V3.19 and using the Tools / Check for Update command. Re: Winbox v3.21 released!

I tried both new versions (3.20 and 3.21 x64) and they both crash on any host I try to connect to in the "downloading descriptors" phase. I tried clearing the cache, moving the sessions folder, nothing has helped. 3.19 does not do this. Any idea as to why this is happening?

How do I convert it to "separate packages"? I'm not finding that information. I'm trying to remove packages now but the error is "can not uninstall bundled package". I assume this is what you mean by separate packages?

Re: GPON ONU module to replace ISP GPON router

You can't change the serial number on the MikroTik SFP GPON. There is a guy in spain that offers a programmable SFP GPON, which you can set your own serial number on, but that won't help you if his SFP GPON doesn't run the proper chipset to match the ONU on the other provider end, usually Huawei or ...

Re: GPON ONU module to replace ISP GPON router

You are going to need a Huawei SFP GPON. I had a similar problem where my ISP (Bell Canada) issued a Nokia (Alcatel) ONT with an integrated GPON that was not removable. I tried the MikroTik SFP GPON and it simply would not work. I had to buy an Alcatel SFP GPON in order for it to work, and I also ha...

Re: Alcatel GPON ONT Issue

Yes, it was either a bad SFP, or an incompatible one. I ordered a variant of the same Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) SFP, with model O-010S-P which from what I could tell was just a model that had higher operating temperature limits. As soon as I installed this module, the link came up immediately when forc...

Yes I did request that Bell reconfigure the account to SFP and I did set up a VLAN 35 with a pppoe client running on it. I don't know whether or not Bell has actually made the change to SFP yet and that's entirely possible why I'm not receiving any packets back but my main concern is this wavelength...

Alcatel GPON ONT Issue

Hello, I am attempting to use an Alcatel G-010S-P ONT SFP GPON on my CRS328-24P-4S+ switch. This will be used to connect to a Bell Canada FTTH service. The issue I am seeing is that I can see my packets being sent but nothing is being received. Looking at the status of the SFP module something that ...
