Re: The time and date refuses to be set properly

I've reset it couple of times so far (holding down the reset button while powering it on).
It didn't help.

The time and date refuses to be set properly

I've setup SNTP Client.
What else do I have to do to get current time on the router?

Re: How to use Mikrotik router as a “switch”?

Its a switch now , it doesnt need ip.
switching is layer 2 (mac)

Re: How to use Mikrotik router as a “switch”?

It is hAP ac².

Your code just puts all interfaces to the bridge.
What about IP?

How to use Mikrotik router as a “switch”?

I want to use Mikrotik router as a “switch”. I’ve tried several instructions I’ve found on the net, but at the end I had to reset the Mikrotik router several times so far (by holding down the reset button while powering it on). I have one existing router xy brand with IP 192.168.1.1, which is also a...

Re: How to increase wireless speed of hAP ac²?

I have updated hAP ac² to 6.43.8. Now I get about 400 Mb/s from my computer to the server and about 250 Mb/s from server to my computer (wirelessly). Of course speed fluctuates quite significally . When I move my laptop to the next room (one wall) speed drops to about 100 Mb/s. :( The test parameter...

How to increase wireless speed of hAP ac²?

I've just received hAP ac². Turned it on and use the 'default' settings (what came out of the box). When I connect my two computers using wires I get 800 Mb/s (I’m OK with this). When I connect one computer wirelessly (802.11ac on 5Ghz) the other is connected through cable , I get 50 Mb/s. The wirel...

Re: VLAN on a regular switch

My first plan was to reuse my current dumb switch for 20€.

But now I'm considering 3 hap ac2 devices.
Do they all have to have the same VLAN settings or do I need to set the VLAN on just one hap ac2 device?

Re: How many VLANs do I need?

hAP ac² is the only router/gateway/AP on the network. I want isolation if Alice's devices get compromised that they don't infect Bob's devices. My concern is that I have to make a VLAN for a Alice's wired device and VLAN for a Alice's wireless device and also two VLANS for Bob’s wired and wireless d...

How many VLANs do I need?

This is a simplified version of setup. Alice has one wireless device and one wired device. Bob has one wireless device and one wired device. They are both connected to a single hAP ac². I want Alice’s devices on separate VLAN and Bob’s devices on separate VLAN. Alice’s devices can talk to each other...

Does the RouterOS ‘respect’ VLAN tags out of the box?

I plan to have 3 Mikrotik routers on my network. One will be setup as a router, the other two will be setup as a bridge (and wireless access point). To all three Mikrotik devices wired and wireless devices will connect when in range. I’ll use VLANs on my main router. The question: will the other two...

VLAN on a regular switch

I have a router/switch/gateway and a regular ‘dumb’ switch. I’ll use VLANs. Most devices will be connected to the router. One (occasionally three) devices will be connected to the switch. Will VLAN also work for device connected to that regular switch? If not, what do I need? Thanks for explanation.
