5G hardware ideas?

Could this hardware a Mini PCIe to M.2 (NGFFF) adapter and a Quectel RM500Q-GL modem facilitate a Mikrotik RBLtAP-2HN to migrate from the R11e-LTE to 5G Cat 20? Replacement of the R11e-LTE module? Or Insertion into the second Mini PCI-e slot? 5G-module.jpg Can this work if the right driver packages ...

Re: Failover WAN to LTE

Hi aesmith,

So far I understand... and it works for a wifi connected client. But what if a client is connected via ethernet on the same switch?

Re: Failover WAN to LTE

SIB, Thanks for the info. As a beginner I understand I have to create two routes in the LtAP. One via LTE provider and the other via eth1. The distance and rules make it possible to switch from ETH1 (primary WAN) to LTE (secundairy WAN). But as the LtAP can also provide GPS signals via remote-acces ...

Failover WAN to LTE

Hi all, I do not have expertise with auto failover. I am running a small wireless wifi network onboard a sailing yacht and am using GPS NMEA 0183 data over IP using the built in GPS receiver combined with freeware chart plotter software. Already figuered out how NMEA data output to IP can be used wi...

GPS positioning NMEA forwarding configuration OpenCPN

How could the OpenCPN chart plotter software (opencpn.org) be configured in the best way to get the GPS data out of the MikroTik LtAP LTE6 kit? It should be possible to read the GPS positioning data direct from the RBLtAP-2HnD & R11e-LTE6 router as a server (without pushing the data to a SQL ser...

Richard,

Do you think the WifiRanger is reasonable priced? We think they are highly-over-priced. Just a metal mounting bracket and some embedded software....

Re: Boat wifi network skin

Thanks for your reply Richard, Obvious your combination will work great too. What we are looking for in this specific recreational vehicle/boat setup (almost the same as yours) is a dedicated Webfig Skin for both MikroTik devices so a non-skilled person can configure the connection in a less compreh...

Boat wifi network skin

To create an easier configurable UI we wonder if there is anyone out there willing to help us develop ready-made pre-installed skins for systems that are being uses for ship-shore wifi network confguration. Our goal is to develop a combination system with a Groove routerboard mounted onboard a saili...
