Re: Feature Request: Better Release Practises!

i would also want to second this. i'm a big supported of MT. i just love it. in our company i completly kicked out all cisco's in favor of MT based routers. but every update is done, with a extended testing enviroment, with identical setups, just to make sure it's going to work. Not possible... Mikrotik is IDE or SATA only, and ESX is SCSI only, so just not compatible... what you could do, but i would recommend... install a small linux with xen enabled. enable paravirtualisation in ESX if you have ESX 3.5 for better performance and then install Mikrotik in XEN virtual machi...

maybe a idea as MT BGP is a bit buggy.... setup a quagga box for your sessions and use BGP reflection to your MT boxes.

Re: Wireless Link 13km ip setup

if you have this setup

wifi1--------wifi2-------wifi3

you only need to make 1 bridge on wifi2 with both wifi links in it.

this is the link pointing to wifi1 and the link pointing to wifi3

no other config is nessecairy.
if you need ip's to config it remotely add the ip to the bridge.

IDS snort

it would be nice if we could have something in a mikrotik router, like a snort interface... that translates normale snort change firewall rules to mikrotik firewall rules.

Mpls

i realy love the Ethernet/o IP. it just a real shame it doesn't work with other sytems like cisco routers.
I can do the ip o ip setup and it works verry wel.

But it would be nice of MT would support MPLS so we could tunnel ipx traffic to a other cisco router.
