Re: Long term release versus Stable

Thank you for replying.

What about the firmware updates? These units are strictly used on only an internal network without having internet access. How do I update the firmware?

Thanks again

Long term release versus Stable

I have a few of RB450G units we took over and some are on routerOS 6.26 and some are on newer revisions. What is the best release to use, stable or long term? I thought the long term release may be mostly security & bug fixes. When upgrading multiple versions, do we need to do every major versio...

Block access to winbox on eth 1

I have a case where we have several RB450G routers in one building that communicate to the same gateway (server). I want to setup firewall rules to block winbox, webfig, possible Mac discovery for winbox just on the ETH port 1 of all the routers, I can manage them locally amd do not want remote acce...

Re: RB450G failing need to replace

Thank You Sindy, sorry for the delay I upgraded one of the Routers that we pulled last year that was starting to fail from routerOS 6.28 up to 6.45.3 using the steps you outlined. I saved backups and /exports as you suggested and all the updates seemed to install properly. I will up do the same upda...

Re: RB450G failing need to replace

Thank you sindy & krafg for your responses. I have to keep the RB450G models because that is what the OEM installed at this site and I cannot change the model. I wanted to give you some detailed information. The OEM uses a VBScript program that we use to upload a .ini file to the router using th...

RB450G failing need to replace

I have several of these units that were all installed 3 years ago and 2 of them are failing. It seems that when they handle heavy network traffic the leds on the ports go out and eventually the unit reboots and works again, does this sound like bad capacitors? I have new RB450G units to replace thes...

450C to 450G restore, strange outcome

Let me start by saying I am a novice in dealing with MikroTik routers. The customer has 7 of these routers in between the computer and network drop, it was really an over reaction by this customer. They had several of these RB450C fail and I ordered replacements amd was sent the RB450G models. I mis...
