Re: RB4011 5Ghz Wifi unstable

Hi @WeWinNet, Thanks for the specifics. I had the same settings as you except for the antenna gain and the 'indoors' in the distance setting. I've tried changing them and will test when I'm back home. Just on that, I've noticed every time I change a setting on wifi1, it often hangs on 'initializing....

Re: RB4011 5Ghz Wifi unstable

When wifi drops I get the below entries in the log. Usually reconnects within seconds, but occasionally seems as if the interface restarts, which takes a bit longer. Usually by that point the client has switched to the 2.4 radio <<mac addr>>@wlan1: disconnected, extensive data loss or <<mac addr>>@w...

Re: Mikrotik RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD and WiFi 802.11AC crash interface

Well, I have a much more simple environment than @TimurA and I am having issues with the rb4011 wifi as well. I haven't yet been able to isolate the cause but I get similar entries in my logs as it seems you experience when it happens.

Re: RB4011 5Ghz Wifi unstable

Thanks for the responses guys. As to your point about auto, I guess my assumption was that auto meant for the router to select the best frequency. Other than looking for the least crowded, I'm not sure I have a whole lot to offer in the decision making process, lol. I am in Thailand and have Thailan...

Re: OpenVPN Server Setup with Windows 10 client - MANAGEMENT: >STATE: xxx,TCP_CONNECT

Actually, strike that. Luckily I have OpenVPN running on my server on a different port and that still works fine, so it gives me access to my lan, including Mikrotik. I could just use that, but I guess I feel this service really belongs on the router more than the server. So, I'm happy to try anythi...

Re: OpenVPN Server Setup with Windows 10 client - MANAGEMENT: >STATE: xxx,TCP_CONNECT

Thanks for the reply. Well, when you said that I was hoping that was the issue. Because, yes, when I was trying to set OpenVPN up, I was doing test connects from the same LAN, which shouldn't have worked. And fyi, my lan is on the x.x.2.0/24 subnet and what I'm going for is to use x.x.3.1-10 ips for...

RB4011 5Ghz Wifi unstable

I know this has been talked about a lot in the forums how the wifi on the RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN has some quirks. Is there any confirmation of a bug? I still want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong. It seems something as simple as having the frequency on the 5Ghz set to auto makes it unstabl...

OpenVPN Server Setup with Windows 10 client - MANAGEMENT: >STATE: xxx,TCP_CONNECT

Hi, I'm new to Mikrotik and part of the reason I decided to get the RB4011 wifi router was to learn more about networking. I have a grasp of networking basics and I have a pretty solid IT background, but I'm finding a lot of things don't seem to work as expected in Router OS. I have strange wifi iss...

Re: RB4011

To those having bad 5Ghz problems, do not choose auto. It may be that MikroTik is choosing a dFS channel and not all modern devices support DFS channels properly. Thanks for the tip. I found the same out on my own, and things were working better for a while, but today the 5g started acting up again...

Re: RouterBOARD naming

I had to comment on this, because I was just talking with my friends about your naming scheme. I just purchased the RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN. When I was shopping for a router and came across it for the first time, I remember having a chuckle thinking it seemed a good router, but you guys might want to...

Re: RB4011

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and to Mikrotik. Just got my RB4011 a few days ago and got the basic configuration complete, and was happy to replace my old tp-link router once and for all. I am certainly no network engineer, but I was finding myself frustrated with consumer network products. A fr...
