Re: v7.14.3 [stable] is released!

Although the mentioned CAKE issue was caused by this bug, it was not limited to CAKE. However, mostly CAKE/Codel/PCQ/SFQ did let the issue to "appear" more easily. In short - queues handle packets and if the combination of queue configuration and processed traffic did meet some very speci...

Re: Status of ROS V7 for BGP, MPLS, VPLS

I tried VPLS between RB951G-2HnD and cAP AC, it works but every 5-10 minutes the RB951G-2HnD had kernel failure and reboot. Between two reboot I can reach bridged devices trough VPLS but would be better to rise this time to infinity :) Is there any known issue with MIPSBE and LDP/VPLS? PS: I tried ...

Re: Can't connect to ISP PPPoE after drop/restart/power out

It maybe an ISP problem, but I have same problem with PPPoE over fiber, with Huawei ONT (in bridge mode). I put the ONT and the Mikrotik behind an UPS,
My ISP is Digi (yet, under acquisitions with other ISP-s), Hungary.

SSTP server and LetsEncrypt renewal

I use SSTP server in RouterOS (now 7.12 beta but problem existed with older releases too) with LetsEncrypt certificate managed by ROS too. When new cert applied by RouterOS, the SSTP server become unaccesible to remote clients. I have to disable/enable the SSTP server function, or sometimes change t...

Re: v7.9beta [testing] is released!

My ISP give me IPv6 address range by DHCPv6 on PPPoE connection. Yesterday I upgraded my capAC (what I use as router) from 7.8 to 7.9b4 and after that I cant get the IPv6 range, DHCP client in search state. I will try to downgrade. Does have anyone similar problem? PS: There was a misconfiguration i...

Re: v7.3rc [testing] is released!

Also buffer bloat is usually less of an issue for symetric lines like 1000/1000. In extreme cases like 1000/50 cable internet connections, the Ack packets for incoming TCP might be enough to saturate the uplink... I get 100/7Mbps from my ISP and CAKE helps for me too. I know its a sophisticated alg...

Re: v7.3rc [testing] is released!

It definitely does not work, but I hear placebo is a strong drug
Maybe placebo for the measurements too, multiple DSLReports tests say that works. But if You are so clever guy, please write a correct guide using CAKE with RouterOS.

Re: v7.3rc [testing] is released!

Like for example, that they changed their minds and enabled Cake for use with queues again in 7.3rc1 after a dialogue with Dave Taht (@dtaht)? Instead of completely not allowing you to accidentally create non-working configuration, you will now see a warning if you do. Good news, but It will be not...

Re: v7.3beta [testing] is released!

I tried CAKE as interface queue, after 1 day there was no connection between Cable modem and Mikrotik, till I set back to hw queue and disable and reenable interface, so not the solution to use CAKE only on hw queue. Mikrotik has to investigate the problem, and I hope they not completely remove CAKE...

Re: v7.3beta [testing] is released!

Absolutely nothing from Mikrotik that I can see besides that nonsensical one liner in the changelog. Comments from the community so far haven't had an official response yet, unfortunately. I opened a ticket with them about this last week. Their response is just as nonsensical: MikroTik did not deve...

Re: v7.3beta [testing] is released!

Has there been any communication regarding CAKE from the devs; apart from the one-liner in the changelog?
Sound of silence.
Only Normis wrote that CAKE is only interface queue.

Re: v7.3beta [testing] is released!

100 email to support@mikrotik.com would be better. Then came the new beta ...

Remember this is just one beta version. MT do read this forum and they see user reaction to what they do. So no need 100 post about the same.
Precisely this is why we need write down 100 times to pressure should be high enough on Mikrotik...

Re: v7.3beta [testing] is released!

CAKE type was always meant only for interface queue, it had no effect when used in simple queue. Bad joke, it worked with queue tree, but was not stable. I made netwatch script, what disabled and reenabled the queue, only in rare situation was problem, and netwatch script always helped... Please FI...

Re: v7.1beta4 [development] is released!

I use an RB951g-2hnd for testing. With minimal firewall, NAT and fasttrack. The WAN side of the router is connected to a LAN (DHCP client), and behind the router I can reach an RDS server from original LAN. With 6 series ROS (many versions and latest beta from yesterday too) it is working, but with ...

My hap mini is instable, when I touch to Wifi interface settings. Default the wifi is disabled after config reset. With my original config the router cant boot with 7.1b3.
The 32 MByte RAM (hap lite and mini) will be enough for stable ROS 7?

There is an outside environment, max 30 meters with 1-2 trees between two buildings. Can the kit handle such environment or should I choose 5GHz WAP kit?

But - there are two ISP's connected to one router - and there's no dude installed on it (it's a company router - If they agree for the installation I'll figure something out but if not then I will have to think of some workaround. With NAT and/or routing marks the problem can be solved. - NAT: you ...
