Re: CCR1036-8G-2S+ SFP Problems

No news on this? Trying to link the 8-port SFP unit with the 24-port switch unit using an SFP. Must be SFP because only have 1 fiber between sites. Mikrotik only sell 10G SFP+ with 2 fiber.

So what? Junk?

CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ multiple ports not linking at 1Gbps

No matter what combination of auto negotiate or manual, and no matter what combination of advertised speeds, I have a few brand new board which have multiple ports that won't link at 1Gbps. Not with Cisco, not with Allied Telesyn, and not with other CCR1009's. I have tried 6.12, 6.15, 6.16rc with no...

Re: Transaction Error Notification from Authorize.net

So what'd you find out? We are having the same exact issue. It runs the card, then auth.net spits an error that it couldn't talk to the script.

We are all 100% public IP, no NAT, no firewall.

Packet loss inside VPLS, but not out?

We have configured MPLS as per example on Wiki. We have many VPLS setup. They work good, but on occasion (random times) we will see about 5 seconds of completely 100% packet loss inside the VPLS tunnel. Outside the tunnel there is not a single packet dropped. Sometimes the entire VPLS interface will...

Transparent proxy with mutliple IPs?

All of our customers have public IPs
We want to provide transparent proxy, but when we do this all sites show up as IP of our router, not customer public IP
Is it possible to have customer public IP show up, and still use transparent caching proxy?
I don't think so, but maybe I am wrong?

What happened to MiniUPS?

Most of you are probably too young to remember the MiniUPS header on the original RB532's.

But for those of you that do (and MT people)... whatever happened to the MiniUPS that was to be available for the original RB532s?

And, really, what the heck exactly was it? We never actually touched one.

Re: 802.11n

If using as an AP is it best to use one antenna V-pol and the other H-pol, or both the same side-by-side?
What about if in a backhaul configuration (i.e. point-to-point); use dual-pol dishes, or 2 of same pol side-by-side?

Re: Can we PLEASE leave the menu orders ALONE?

Yeah, I could see making it customizable would be difficult. And, really, since we work on multiple machines, it'd never get used anyway--unless we wanted to always sync our config file. It'd be nice if you'd put it back in the old order. It's been in that order since we started using MikroTik many,...

Re: 802.11n

On one hand you say the that throughput mainly depends on much more than the signal strength; then in the next breath you say his config won't help at all. Uhh... ya think? If he has things like MCS settings, ANI settings, TX power settings, or about 10 other settings anything other than default it ...

Can you post your config?

We have similar setup, almost exact same signal, and only get about 25Mbps max.

Re: 802.11n

Let's say your AP is a RB600+SR71 card, with 3 sector antennas covering the same area (i.e. all 90-degree sectors, all pointing the same direction, but mounted on the tower side-by-side). Two vertical, one horizontal. If you have regular WiFi laptop clients roaming around, using 802.11G (NOT N!) car...

Re: Can we PLEASE leave the menu orders ALONE?

And another request... Please put the protocol numbers back in the protocol drop-down list (i.e. in firewall) Use to say things like "17 udp" now it just says "udp" Sometimes it's easier to look for the number, instead of the name. It was there, why did it go away? Furthermore, i...

Re: R52N Not using extension channel

Furthermore, as shown above in the configuration--periodic-calibration is already disabled.

I need to get at least 40Mbps throughput out of this link. Do you think we can do it?
If not, I may just switch this to Nstreme2.

R52N Not using extension channel

Using the R52N on about a 12 mile link. 32dB dual-pol dishes on each end. Signal about -64dBm on each end. Using no extension channel, only seeing about 30Mbps real-world throughput. Turning on the extension channel, see absolutely no improvement. Spectrum analyzer indicates that it's never using th...

Re: Can we PLEASE leave the menu orders ALONE?

My point is not that you can't find it - obviously yes, you can take a few extra seconds to go, "Hmm... now where in the alphabet would Addresses be in relation to Arp, Pool, DHCP Server, and everything else that I use on a very, very regular basis, which are now in a new order. Oh, ok, right t...

Re: Can we PLEASE leave the menu orders ALONE?

Ok, so for the few people who use tiny laptops with tiny screens - great. For those of us that work on hundreds (or thousands) of routers on a regular basis, from large 24" monitors - it's a real PITA. I'm downgrading software on the ones we had upgraded. When you get used to a certain order th...

Just started installing 3.25... Can we PLEASE leave the menu order alone? I, as are others I'm sure, am very familiar with where things are in the menu... i.e. the first thing under IP is (was) Addresses, now it's Arp? System had Reboot at the end, now it's kinda in the middle Tools had Ping at the ...

Re: VoIP over Nstreme PTMP not working good

*sigh* Wish I would have known that a month ago. When the wireless beta package was released for 3.17 a while back, we put it on the AP's and noticed a huge improvement in latency/etc so we converted all our CPEs back to Nstreme. Converting them off Nstreme again will be such a headache. If I do tha...

VoIP over Nstreme PTMP not working good

Hello, We have AP (RB411A) with about 60 clients on it (mix of RB133C & RB411). Nstreme is enable. Polling is enable. We use WDS and bridge at the CPE side. VoIP to the user (i.e. AP -> CPE -> User) is pretty good. However, coming back (i.e. User -> CPE -> AP) is horrible. This happens even when...
