Re: Traffic shaping and VLAN's

Do I get you right that you want to limit throughput of the traffic being bridged (i.e. not routed) between ether2 and ether4? Hi Sindy, Sorry for this late reply. I did not manage to make any progress to fix it up, so I still need your help. Indeed, I want to limit throughput for the traffic being...

Re: Traffic shaping and VLAN's

Hi guys, The only point where I can control the bandwidth is on ether3, since the traffic is untagged and I can create a simple queue which can have as target the IP address of the ServerA. I didn't find yet a solution for those two vlans (101,102) which are bridged from ether2 to ether4. Is there a...

Traffic shaping and VLAN's

Hi guys, I’m struggling to implement traffic shaping with a hEX S (v6.45.6) for the following design, involving traffic tagged and untagged. All my attempts were unsuccessful either with simple queue or with mangle rules + queues. I’ve created two bridges on hEX S: 1. Bridge_A = traffic tagged vlan_...

Re: Feature requests

Still I want to ask you about 1PPS signal. 1. Is there any component/hardware (eg: GPS) of a Mikrotik equipment which can provide to the other LAN equipment such kind of signal (1PPS)? 2. I have a heX router (NTP client) which is synchronized to a RB1100AH (NTP server). Directly connected to heX, t...

Re: Feature requests

Hi PE1CHL, I'm using also a NTP server in a hEX combined with an external 1PPS signal generator. The NTP client is a unix machine which is synchronized with the hEX NTP server and via internal bus is fetching 1PPS signal. I'm to calculate the jitter. 1. Is there a way to combine the NTP with 1PPS in...

Re: Feature requests

Answer to questions 1,2,4 and 5 is: No. Variation of answer to question 2: most decent switches/routers are good enough as a (single?) step in otherwise fully IEEE1588-compliant path if they are lightly loaded so that delay jitter is really low. This way the additional constant delay due to active ...

Re: Feature request: IEEE 1588 support

RouterOS includes limited (S)NTP support for syncing clocks. For many applications (e.g. in telecoms and industry) more time precision is required. Protocol IEEE 1588-2008 (aka PTP, IEEE1588v2) is used for this. It would be a great benefit if Mikrotik devices would support IEEE 1588 and function as...

NTP server client troubleshooting

Hi guys, I have an Access Router RB1100AHx4 (v6.45.2) which is connected to internet and his NTP client is synchronized to Stratum 1 and Stratum 2 public servers. This router will act as NTP Server for LAN. In the LAN, I have another RB1100AHx4 which must be synchronized with the Access Router NTP S...

Re: One physical port/ multiple bridges

Thank you very much Sindy and Sebastia for clarification.
To be honest I didn't realized that a bridge can have multiple ports assigned to it . I was trying to use one physical port for multiple bridges.
The problem is fixed now.

Have a good day!

One physical port/ multiple bridges

Hey guys, I need your help concerning the configuration of multiple bridges with the same physical interface. Here enclosed is depicted schema of what I want to achieve. From our L3 switch we have a trunk interface towards the Mikrotik router office which accommodates vlan 101 and 102. These vlans m...

EoIP and VLANs advantages/

Hey there, Could somebody help me to decide which is the best option having multiple vlans that will be tunneled with EoIP? Should I use one EoIP for each VLAN or should I use only one EoIP who accommodates all VLANs? Would be great if you can tell me what are the advantages/disadvantages for each o...
