Re: Different Route, Different Bridge

Keep in mind that RB4011 uses RTL8367 switch chip, which is (when used in Routerboard device) cripled the same way as MT7621 (used in e.g. hEX) and doesn't support VLANs in hardware. So when one configures VLANs on RB4011, everything will pass CPU (even intra-VLAN trafic between teo ports). Always ...

Anav, you need to read up on antenna radiation patterns. Antennas radiate their power in lobes, even omni antennas. The more directional the antenna, the more the lobes are concentrated in one direction and typically there are more lobes. Back lobes are what you need to pay attention to. They radia...

Re: Using hex as switch?

The hEX is a super router, but has a weaker switch chip than some other MKT devices. MT7621 is actually decent switch chip, just not when used in Mikrotik device. Even in MT it should do just fine (wirespeed switching) if VLAN is out of scope. When one needs to use VLANs, then indeed hEX is not a g...

The hEX is a super router, but has a weaker switch chip than some other MKT devices. If you have a spare hEX, that's an easy choice. However if it has to be bought then something with a QCA8337 instead of the MT7621 would be a better switch, like the hEX PoE. https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Sw...

Disconnect due to "extensive data loss". Is disconnect because the ACK was not received in time. What's the process? Every unicast transmit needs an ACK respons. Without a bridge, and 2 routers in the same subnet .... routing might not work unless RB1 routes for that subnet.and the PC is in another subnet. Proxy-ARP and masquerade might make it all work however. You can connect to RB2 by using the Telnet tool in RB1. (Telnet, SSH , MAC telnet) For Winbox acc...

Working of an antenna has reciprocity. The antenna gain works in both directions: send and receive.
But 0.5dBi is indeed small, not to say negligible (12%)

Differences? 1Gbps ethernet versus 100 Mbps. Dimensions of the unit.

If I compare the specs.

Correct this to 40 MHz (your config setting is limiting!) or check at least what the Huawei is using. It can even be that you use 5GHz without knowing ! Multiple APs should be on separate channels.
Yes sure is, for 5GHz band certainly. The strategy for 2.4 GHz is a bit different, and I have the impression that most of the "perfomance" tweaks here still come from the 2.4 GHz experience.

Re: DHCP is not working when using Mikrotik router with Linksys wireless bridge

Point is : what is the implementation of a wireless bridge in this Linksys? After reading the mentioned doc it seems to be like the Mikrotik "pseudo bridge" , also known by others (like ENGenius, Draytek,, TP-Link ....) as "Universal repeater". There are multiple implementations possible for an univ...

Sorry. Finally this was a misconfig. All versions of RouterOS behaved the same. Only the wAP was behaving erratic. hAP ac2 was fine Mystery was that after some time (5 minutes) or after a DHCP renewal it all worked. Very strange. But then looking at details (Winbox) I overlooked the bridge port for ...

What do you mean by:"but it does not returns despite what I tried." ? Also give your intended subnets used. If this is one LAN with subnet 10.0.0.0/29 (10.0.0.0-10.0.0.7) then router2 should be in bridged mode. This acts like a switch and can be added and removed without modification of the connecti...

Actually it is WLAN5 and WLAN6 that were removed.
This is a test setup for many things (nv2, WDS, ...) don't be confused by the settings on 5GHz.

Maybe Maybe you get better results with another band, with lower RSRP reception level, but better RSRQ. (SXT TE kit lets you indicate allowed bands for connection)

Yep , I have seen your search for the method in that other post. Excellent. I think SurfShark has the better opportunities, compared to NordVPN. Should be the correct LTE device. SNR is very low. Using the same frequencies (band) as the other router?
My experience is getting -80dBm RSRP , where the inhouse unit gets -105dBm.

LAN0 and LAN are in the same subnet.
How is the MKT set up? Just bridged (all ports are LAN) , or as gateway (WAN and LAN ports)?
As gateway subnets must be different (are routed) and access via the WAN port is disabled by default.

Yes you can. Repeater setup will go for "pseudo bridge", but that might not be what is the best connection. Pseudo bridge allows for same or different SSID. If you do not need to access the devices in the shed transparantely (reverse connection), then I would go for the "station - AP bridge" combina...

Last but not least moving to AC only makes real sense when you utilise 80mhz or 160Mhz Channel width, as there will no gain on 20 and 40Mhz Channel widths. By the way: I fully agree with the Duxtel article, unfortunately the neighborgs don't. Maybe there is some value in AC.... https://www.forbes.c...

Sadly Frequency Usage or Wireless Snooper does seem to function in that Frequency Range,

I had no problem with that, as long as the scanned interface is not the one you are connected to. (It drops the current connections to do the scanning)
