Re: Port forwarding using DDNS doesn't work

This is wrong. Your are only the 10th this week with this error. :) /ip address add address=192.168.1.1/24 comment=defconf interface= ether2 network=\ 192.168.1.0 When using bringing, the IP should be on the bridge (or VLAN if that is used), not one of the interface belongs to the bridge. Correct /...

Re: Port forwarding using DDNS doesn't work

My router gets dynamic IP from my ISP, ... And is it public address? It may sound as stupid question, but many people miss this important bit. If you check the address that DDNS hostname resolves to, do you have the same address on your router in IP->Addresses? Actually... they are very much differ...

Re: Port forwarding using DDNS doesn't work

Port forwarding with dynemic IP / DDNS works if configured correctly. Post NAT config (run /ip firewall nat export in a terminal window) so we can check if something is wrong. Thank you for the response! Here are my NAT rules: /ip firewall nat add action=masquerade chain=srcnat comment="defcon...

Port forwarding using DDNS doesn't work

Hello! My router gets dynamic IP from my ISP, so one of the most obvious options is to use DDNS. However when I try to forward SSH port 24022 on my router to port 22 on 192.168.1.240 host inside my local network, connection is either refused or timed out. I lurked this forum a bit, used solutions fr...

DNS does not resolve local hostnames.

Hello! My RB450Gx4 seems to completely ignore local network DNS names: I can't connect to any of my devices using SSH, RDP or SMB with their hostnames. Nslookup from windows machine results in this: Windows: C:\>nslookup zp-nb Server: homebase Address: 192.168.1.1 *** homebase can't find zp-nb: Non-...

Re: Need advice with a proper router for my home.

Hi Zak, with my RB450Gx4 I got two Cap ACs. Yes more on the budget but these are two very nice units. I run them each with one 2.4ghz radio (for smart devices) and one 5ghz radio (for home wifi) and one virtual 5ghz radio (for guest wifi). It would be foolish for me to have a 1gig service for inter...

Re: Need advice with a proper router for my home.

As a result I bought RB450Gx4 + CA150 + 18POW for ~115$ total. My next purchase will be an access point or two: most likely cAP Lite or cAP. Good choice, my RB450Gx4 is 1Gig ready I can get over 900Mbps on my office computer. Thank you, I extremely happy with my router as well. I've done some initi...

Re: Need advice with a proper router for my home.

A single RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN should easily be able to handle that workload. Even a hAP ac² would be able to handle the network traffic, the wireless will depend, the RB2011 will probably be able to handle it, the hAP is a bit light in the pants on the wifi end (most Mikrotik devices are) you can als...

Need advice with a proper router for my home.

Every member of my large family is heavily armed with smarphones, tablets and/or laptops, we also have a smart TV, X-Box, a home NAS and finally my personal ESXi home lab server that are connected via gigabit LAN. According to my router's DHCP leases table, there are currently 14 active clients out ...

Re: hAP ac² - more RAM than in HW specification [SOLVED]

I am extremely interested in buying hAP ac² with 256MB RAM, however all on-line stores representatives claim that only 128MB RAM models have been supplied recently. This "lottery" might have been a good idea at the beginning, but it turned out a big frustration to me.
