Re: Hotspot User Profile - Incoming/Outgoing Packet Mark Iss

Ah hah! The solution is quite simple really... since the hotspot is producing mangle rules that are in the "hotspot" chain I just had to setup a jump rule in mangle using the forward chain and a jump target of "hotspot". Since I didn't want the router to have to analyze every single packet, I also a...

Hotspot User Profile - Incoming/Outgoing Packet Mark*SOLVED*

As the title states, I am having an issue marking hotspot user traffic with the packet marking option in the user profile. Essentially what I am trying to do is dynamically mark hotspot user traffic so that I can add it to a custom queue and limit the bandwidth. I have a RouterBoard 450G w/fresh ins...

Universal Hotspot Logout Page - One device/Multiple hotspots

Just felt like sharing, don't know if anyone else has covered this or not but I suppose it couldn't hurt to put my own solution up here. I am assuming you have the ability to create dns records and that you have some spare hardware to run a webserver with php. Feel free to suggest easier/more gracef...

Re: Ubiquiti SNMP links between devices always red *SOLVED*

Downgraded to firmware 5.2 on the device and the interfaces now show a nonzero, albeit incorrect value for all the interfaces.

The Ubiquiti forum thread I opened up can be found here:

Re: Starting Dude on Linux upon boot

I run it in an nx session. Installed nomachine on my server which is a secure remote access management software. Log into it and run the dude on that session, then disconnect from the session and it stays running.

Re: Ubiquiti SNMP links between devices always red

Ah-Hah! That's exactly the info I was looking for! I went ahead and did an SNMP walk on one of my bridges and sure enough the link speed is reporting as 0. I'll post this info over on the UBNT forums and see what they have to say. Thanks for your help! The only one that seems to be reporting properl...

Re: Ubiquiti SNMP links between devices always red

Thanks for the suggestion. That does work as a workaround for the moment so I'm not seeing all red links. Still curious as to the specifics of how the link rate is probed without manually setting it if anyone else has any insight that would be appreciated.

Ubiquiti SNMP links between devices always red *SOLVED*

Hi :D So Here's the problem... I'm using The Dude v4.0b2 and I have several Ubiquiti wireless devices (Rocket M5, NanoBridge M5, NanoStation M5) that are being monitored utilizing SNMP. The dude (same version) used to have black links and change them to red as the load got heavier on the link but no...

Re: (1) Subscription profiles and (2) How to refund credits

I have confirmed with Mikrotik support that these options do not exist for usermanager. I have added a poll to see if other users would be interested in the subscription functionality.

Re: User Manager Feature request - sticky please?

Subscription Profiles Feature Request I opened up a separate thread about our interest in having profiles that automatically renew/charge at the end of their cycle here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=40880 I'm curious to see if other users are interested in this feature so if you h...

(1) Subscription profiles and (2) How to refund credits

Well first thing's first, I'd like to say congratulations on a most excellent package that you all over at MikroTik have produced with the Usermanager. I am running a WISP that accepts user signups via a secure website that is currently being outsourced but we are looking to move this in house. We o...

Re: What is ssl passphrase and where do i get it?

SSL on MikroTik works with the following process: 1. Create a private key (passphrase) 2. Create a certificate request file using the private key and protect it with a password. 3. Then you take the certificate request file and either: a. Send it to a signing authority such as thawte.com. b. Sign it...

Understanding VLANs. Questions w/diagram.

Ok. I have a couple of questions about VLANs that hopefully can be answered by someone here. Take a look at the following diagram: understandingvlans.png In it, you will see a setup of VLAN's that I have configured. My first question is - Is this the proper way to setup VLANs? I have the first ether...

SNMP Set Command?

I may just be overlooking something glaringly obvious but does The Dude have a way to issue set commands to snmp capable devices detected on the network? I have access points that can be configured in this way and it would be extremely useful if I could use The Dude to walk them and set their attrib...
