But, still it will go across all links, and in to where the concentrator is (core).
When using routed network, the broadcast etc will not leave the site, right?

If I can achieve this using L2 links, I will rather do that than setting up OSPF etc, as it will be a simpler setup.

The reason for the RB1200s is to not have a to large L2 network, witch I have bad experience with

Re: VLAN trunk over EoIP?

MTU on interface is 1522.
But can the EoIP tunnel transport my VLAN trunk?
What must the MTU be on the EoIP tunnel to correctly transport the trunk?

Just checking here if this is possible to achieve, before I begin testing :D

Simple VLAN switch setup, can`t make it work

I`m setting up a RB493AH as a switch, witch I will be using for filtering traffic (bridge filter). I found the problem.

When logging in I used to use http://192.168.168.1/usermanager
Now I tried http://192.168.168.1/userman and it worked again.

A bug?

I must say, I bought a bunch (400+) of routerboards and licenses, but the support is not impressive :(

The users of the hotspot should get 10Mbps on local addresses 192.168.1.0/24 and 10.1.0.0/24.
When accessing all other (WAN) the profile set in usermanager should apply.

How would I achieve this?

Manual TX power, XR5, RIC/522T

Hello I have some TX power questions. I have a lot of the old RICs with the RB532 board. When I have close links, I set TX Power to manual, and experiment with the 3 highest speeds down in 1db steps. So I get SNR down to about 50db and signal strength around 45dbm. But now I have set up a p2p link w...

PPPoE over VLAN, problems

Hello

I use some Cisco an HP switches in my network.
On these there are many VLANs defined.
I have problems getting PPPoE working over VLAN it seems (mikrotik clients).
Everything else works just fine, but PPPoE seems to brake.
Anybody know if VLAN and PPPoE is incompatible?
