Realistically you should expect speeds on 5Ghz with LOS, in the range of 173/3 = 575Mbps and for 2.4Ghz around 100Mbps. 2.4ghz will work reliably through one wall and okay through 2. 5ghz will work okay through one wall I am beginning to think that my expectations with the WiFi driver on this route...

If you are just using default setting, you are most probably using 5G1, and it's managed by CAPsMAN, 5G1 is slower + CAPsMAN is slower, result in much slower is reasonable. Re: hAP AC2+cAP AC Roaming is a joke [SOLVED]

There’s been a lot of technical logics been discussing, it seems like MikroTik is doing the right way, but the only result is : BAD. As an end users, we only care about the result, no matter how high end or how deep you can go for to explain it, we just care about the result. If MikroTik is the only...

Re: hAP AC2+cAP AC Roaming is a joke [SOLVED]

For sure CAPsMAN can do roaming, but how about the experience of it? Video call hangs for 2~4 seconds during roaming and total throughput is low, I dunno why it will slow the things down as I monitored the CPU usage and nothing special, CPU is just about 10% (1 core 50%+-), I have really no ideal wh...

hAP AC2+cAP AC Roaming is a joke [SOLVED]

After spending about few weeks tweaking, tried countless methods just for improving roaming experience, I give up. They just don't designed to work together, the roaming experience is so bad no matter how I try, AP bridge/Mesh with same channel/CAPsMAN/AP bridge with disable RSTP/ enable PMKID..... ...

Re: Capsman ? WDS ? Mesh ?

I tried it all, CAPsMAN gives me the best roaming experience, but it will reduce the max download speed from 470mbps to 360mbps, if your ISP speed is lower than that and you will be totally fine. Btw my setup is cAP AC2 + hAP AC

Simple logic, if MikroTik selling 2 models with exactly same specs but 1 of it with k/v/r, selling at the same price, which 1 will you choose?

It's funny to see us discussing something that WE DON’T HAVE, while other users from other vendors are enjoying the benefits of it

I expect to see those Apple forums will do the same way to discuss something like “Why we don’t need 5G”

Re: Disable RSTP solve my roaming issue

Best solution is something support 802.11k/v/r, I don't think mikrotik got these right now True, but when I saw a video from YouTube, a MikroTik guy said "When the spectrum is fully used, it's nothing we can do" I know I shouldn't have any hope with MikroTik wireless, they had showed thei...

Disable RSTP solve my roaming issue

Hardware: hAP AC2, cAP AC Software: 6.46b38 I got the Wi-Fi roaming issue on my iPhone XS MAX(iOS 12.4), while other devices like iPad Pro 10.5"(iOS12.4/13b7) and Huawei P20 Pro has no problem for roaming. My phone will drop the connection during roaming and reconnect to the nearest AP after, i...

Re: CAPsMAN slow my WiFi down

The current solution for me to have high throughput and smooth roaming is: 1. No CAPsMAN 2. Set both APs to AP Bridge mode and Dynamic Mesh with same channel 3. RSTP will handle the rest to avoid loop by using LAN connection as root port(Cost 10) and wireless connection as alternative port(Cost 100)...

I've confirmed the problem, when I use Quick Set "Home AP Dual", my Wi-Fi upload speed will be 200mbps, if I use Quick Set "CAP", the upload speed will become 400mbps.

All my wireless setting is same, very strange issue.
