In general, the lower the dbi, the wider the beam. 21db antennas would be overkill in your application. 120 deg, 12 dbi sectors at each corner would work fine for you. Use WDS or pseudo bridge. Careful you don't scramble the quarterback's brains when the line of scrimmage is near mid-field.

Using the MT ROS makes it all worthwhile, even if you have to subsidize part of the cost.

The previous Deliberant line (2100,2500,2700 with Realtek chipsets) linked up OK with our MT AP using an R52, but disconnect-reconnects were frequent. Throughput and retrans rates were fine.

Com 20??? In Hyperterminal I believe you have a choice of Com1-5. But to back way up, why are you using an old 112 for an AP at all? Why not a 532 or 133 at the very least?
