I have the same problem with a 411U an Huawei E220. Starts up correctly 50% of the time, other times exactly what you describe and this requires a trip to the site- Very frustrating.
I know MT was not designed for what i want to do, but it is such a simple task that it does not warrant a dedicated pc. These devices will also be installed in less than perfect conditions, so the more compact we can keep everything the better.
OK, I know what i have to do now, just not sure how to do it. I have thermometers with a webinterface and want to log them on my mt boxes somehow. When i type in http://thermometerIP/gett1.cgi in my browser, only a value is displayed in simple text. Is there a way i can capture (log) that value in a...
Hi there, I would love to run the following Linux script inside mt: [root tmp]# cat /sbin/record-hum date >> /tmp/hum75.out wget http://192.168.12.15/gett1.cgi cat gett1.cgi >> /tmp/hum75.out rm gett1.cgi wget http://192.168.12.15/gett2.cgi cat gett2.cgi >> /tmp/hum75.out rm gett2.cgi echo " C ...
Hi All, I have set up mangle rules to first mark the connection from a certain IP, then mark the packets. The counters show that there is traffic on these rules, so i assume the packets get marked. I have set up a queue on the marked packets, but it does not register any traffic. Any ideas what I co...
Since a while ago, when I log into userman and view users, I cannot see how much each user has uploaded/downloaded. It only shows 0 B. I have tried from multiple computers/ OS's/locations. This makes it impossible look into a customers query about their download quota. Just upgraded to 3.23 and prob...
Thanks for the reply, The router in question is about 400km from here and the customer is very dependant on it. I am a bit cautious to make drastic changes to it. Do you suggest I bridge lan and lan2? The reason they have two subnets is a weighing system with hard coded ip address (0.x) and an oldis...
RB433 running 3.10: Interfaces: ADSL: LAN: 192.168.0.0/24 Lan2: 192.168.1.0/24 Wlan1: 192.168.2.0/24 Pptp user: Local ip: 192.168.0.161 Remote ip: 192.168.0.162 Problem: When connected to pptp, user can only ping LAN, not LAN2. When I assign a 192.168.1.0/24 addy to pptp user, it can only ping that ...
While we have the topic up there, I have a question. Is there any way to add the transfer limit in anything but bytes? I have made several mistakes by omitting a '0', since there are zillions of them to add to 100Mb. I know this is my own stupidity, but I cannot expect a Guest house manager to get i...
I dunno if this applies to you, but i had a similiar problem.
It turned out that i could not run netinstall off a flash drive (usb disk). I had to copy netinstall and packages to my pc itself before netinstall would work. Similiar symptoms to your problem.
I have a hotspot setup with usermanger at an internet cafe client. One of the PC's on the hotspot has a printer attached that all the other pc's need to access.
Is this possible without bypassing hotspot? I would like to keep the pc as a voucher user.
Hi, I had a similiar problem, but overcame it with netwatch. Set up two instances to check different sites, like yahoo and google. These are just example sites. You then force all icmp traffic to google over isp1 and yahoo traffic over isp2. Or just block icmp to yahoo over isp et vica verca. That w...
In my country, smtp relaying is not allowed. A lot of people use 3G on the road and ADSL at home and at work. For them to swop between isp's like that, they have to either change their outgoing mail server, or use smtp auth in order to send mail. The beauty of hotspot with smtp redirection is that c...
Currently users on my public hotspot (2.9.46) cannot authenticate with their smtp servers, since all smtp traffic gets redirected to my ISP's smtp server.
I have searched the forum, wiki, maual etc, but no answers.
RTFM! There are three predefined chains, which cannot be deleted: input - used to process packets entering the router through one of the interfaces with the destination IP address which is one of the router's addresses. Packets passing through the router are not processed against the rules of the in...
Hi, I have three interfaces, LAN, WAN & Wifi on RB532. Hotspot is set up on Wifi for authentication. Exchange server is running on LAN. What do I have to do to grant access from authenticated hotspot users to the Exchange server? By torching i have found that it is transmitting to port 445, but ...
Hi Everyone, I have a little situation. I have made a failover device using MT. It is connected to adsl and 3G. When the ADSL fails, the 3G kicks in. This is accomplished using netwatch and a script that changes the default route's (ADSL) distance from 1 to 3. The 3G gateway's distance is set at 2. ...
Hi, I had the same kinda problem, but without balancing. How I overcame your VSat gateway problem: Netwatch any site (google) and force the ICMP traffic to go through the VSat (using a rule). That way you do not need the second hop from your unhelpful friends. Just make sure that the google ping ONL...
Thanks for the suggestion. The dude has the same problems sending mail, but it does allow for a visual of the network. This actually overcame the mail problem, as my client now has a popup when interfaces go down which they like better than the mail. So, not the answer i was looking for, but a solut...
Is there any way to make the sending of this e-mail persistent? So that if it is unable to send when the script is run, it will keep trying untill it is successfully sent.
Does anyone have any ideas? It would be very helpfull.
