Re: computer don't go online

Hello, maybe it is NOT your network that has a problem, but the users PC! just make it simple. first connect your pc / lappy at the users place if that works nxt step is, use a live version of Ubuntu to start up the users PC. If that works, they should make a "complete" new install off Win... includ...

User-Manager login by MAC on wired network

Hello, i want to use the user-manager with MAC autentication. I know that everything is written down in the wiki! (User Manager/QA/How to make MAC authentication) But this is NOT working at my place. Re: 3.15 Hotspot bug

This can be forwarded to include 3.17 as an issue in fact there were problems with vista and 2.9.51 as well. The symptoms are commonly as follows. Vista has trouble opening logon page, sometimes can not open at all. Vista PC has A LOT of trouble if IPV6 is enabled I have had to disable this on each...

Why is bonding speeding down my links?

Hi, I use 2 RB450 between them are 2 (external) radio links 1. in 2,4, 2. in 5 ghz.
Why is the result slower as each link for its self?
The reason i want to use this is a: redundancy and b: double the speed.
bonding mode rr.
An answer will be nice.

Re: dude crashes with to big database

I had a problem this morning. I imported a database from x86 px to RB450. That was stupid, i know, but the worst, was that router rebooted after 10 seconds, everytyme it begins to work. I know that it can't handle all that big dude database. The problem is, that its hard to fix it. Simply by disabl...

Re: Couldn't restore configuration - file not found (6)

I'm getting this error when trying to restore a general configuration I use as a template on the RB411 for customer CPEs (no sense in reentering that info again and again). The board is running V3.10. I also experienced this on the Crossroads board using V3.13. Use Terminal. [admin@Hotspot] /system...

Re: internet access over wds

Will 5.5 Omni antennas make the distance based on the 400mw cards. Also how do you test if they are making the distance and that there is a good signal strength Thanks Please don´t screw up the entire environment surrounding you with to much output power!! For that small distance 70 mW will be enou...

Re: internet access over wds

Hi All Im reasonably new to router os so please be gentle. We require a setup that can share the internet over two locations seperated by about 150 metres. We have two alix boards that have 2 wlan interfaces and and a ethernet interface. Basically the first AP will be connected to a dsl router. Wha...

Re: RouterOS 2.9.51 or RouterOS 3.12?

I am using RouterOS 2.9.51, and am thinking about upgrading to RouterOS 3.12 Has anyone had any issues with RouterOS 3.12? Is there anything that RouterOS 2.9.51 can do that RouterOS 3.12 can’t? Is there any reason why I should stay with RouterOS 2.9.51 at this point? Are there any potential proble...

RouterOs 3.11 on x86 2. RouterOs 2.9.51 on x86 did the same (nothing!) after updating to 3.12. No possibility t...

Re: hotspot urgent help multiple mac login

Hi, still the same problem? I think it is something quit different what makes the problem. I think that some of your internet cafes are using routers, then the same thing happens, if one pc is logged in all the others are logged in. Because it is the Routers Mac that is logged and not the one from t...

Re: centralized authentication

Hi, I am using a simular setup to cover a village.
What you did wrong ( my opinion).
Now the remote stations are routers, that is NOT what you want.
Switch off the dhcp in the remote stations and everything will work fine.

Have a nice day, Jan-Willem

Re: Smart UPS

I'm willing to put a Routerboard on a car so I need a UPS to power up the routerboard after the car engine is turned off, in order to provide enough time for the routerboard to shutdown properly. The specs are: 12V DC input, 24V DC output and less than 15W power. If anyone know of a UPS that I coul...

Hi, as the limitation say´s you can have 20 active sessions, NOT 20 active users. It looks like your users logged them self in with more than PC (did they give there name and login to a friend?). Hi, I have a nice working (mikrotik) hotspot with over 50 user's. the only problem is that some websites, where you have to login with name and passwort seem to reject the login. No comment at all, just the login screen appears again. If i bypass the hotspot everything is OK. Somebody any idea?? Jan...
