Re: WAP LTE missing interface

Do you upgrade the RouterOS, boot firmware, and modem firmware before returning them? Are you using V6 or V7? wAP or wAPac? I use a lot of wAPac's, while I often run into software issues, defective hardware out-of-box has been non-existent. Now if not careful, and exposed outside, water getting in,...

Re: WAP LTE missing interface

Hi all, Mikrotik Support,
we need to share our experience: we have sent in RMA many devices (wAP 1port o 2port) for randomly LTE Interface missing!
RMA rate is about 10% of all wAP!

Different batch, different delears, same issue!

This is very annoing!

Re: CRS309-1G-8S+: Poor PPPoE performance

With near 500 PPPoE users using ~600Mb/s down / ~200Mb/s up, the CCR1036-12G-4S have just 4% of CPU used...
Sorry, I intend single PPPoE Client not reach 1GB/s (CCR1009 as CPE), whit CCR1036 o CCR1072 at PPPoE server, performances are about 800MB/s.
Putting in IPoE, client reach 1GB/s...

Do you have some kind of evidence to back up the claim that the RB4011, RB5009, etc will do the job? The RB5009 maxes out a 1GB uplink with PPPoE with 10-30% CPU load on all 4 cores in my personal experience. I wouldn't recommend BGP for this - it's not well-suited as an interior routing protocol. iBGP will keep the "next hop" intact by default, so you'd want to make sure that the pppoe servers were sending next-hop=self (I forget the exact option in Mikrotik, but you get the idea) You could m...

Or Mikrotik could fix the behavior of the OSPF redistribution function. ;)
Also - it would be nice if routing filters allowed you to set the cost metric when redistributing routes into OSPF...

Sure, but I think that... it's more fast if I learn BGP ;)

Re: OSPF and Routing Filters to manage PPPoE Server side failover for routed subnet

I think dividing your pppoe servers into primary and backup roles is going to be the only option for you since you can't specify an OSPF metric in the routing filters. You are right, but, at moment, all PPPoE Servers must be primary and backup at same time. Primary and backup is associated to custo...

I think, you can use one link (in one direction) in a time - with OSPF. You can force link1 to downstream and link2 to upstream with OSPF, but for selecting links based on source and/or destination, you have to use BGP. OSPF always selects the shortest past (based on cost) and have no filter action...
