Re: hAP ax² dual band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)

Just got my hAP ax2, firsts impressions, the wifi is atually good and fast.
How many watts does it idle at?
at 20v I got a reading of ~4.5w
So that's why there's more holes on the case now, my AC2 idles at 3w.

You should downgrade to v6, performance is so much better.

Re: hAP ax² dual band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)

Hi,

Mikrotik has changed the test results and hAP AX2 is now more powerfull in routing and it is now much better than hAP AC2. Pitty that USB is missing now....

Routing 25 ip filter rules 2625.1 Mbps
Now we are talking! I wonder if this is because of v7.5rc.

Re: Newsletter 107

I think in real-world scenarios is very unlikely to saturate a 1gbps ethernet interface with wifi traffic on a small AX access-point like this. Beyond specific benchmarks, under ideal conditions, an access-point like this will be far from pushing 1gbps or considering 1gbps a practical real limitati...

Re: Newsletter 107

Why is ax2 slower in routing over ac2? ax2 has powerfull CPU...Is it some mistake in test result? tests.jpg RoS 6 uses an ancient Linux kernel that still have route caching. RoS 7 uses a fairly new kernel (5.6.x, if I'm not mistaken), and routing cache was dropped from Linux some time ago. It was d...

With the inability to lower transmit power with the new versions, looks like it's time to look at other vendors.

Re: Bypassing AT&T Residential Gateways with MikroTik

Anyone know why sometimes when connection dies, replugging in the AT&T router would re-establish connection but only at 500mbit speed? I have to reboot Mikrotik router to get back to 1000mbit

(I'm using the bridge method, I power down the AT&T router after it authenticates)

Re: Port forwarding works but only if dynamic ip? [SOLVED]

It's just Windows TCP/IP ipv4

IP to 192.168.1.254 (same as before)
netmask 255.255.255.0 (same as before)
gateway 192.168.1.1 (same as before)

DNS 192.168.1.1 (same as before)

My previous consumer routers would work either way, but this Mikrotik doesn't....

Port forwarding works but only if dynamic ip? [SOLVED]

Hi, I bounded a mac address to the same ip in dhcp server and port forwarding works via /ip firewall nat add chain=dstnat dst-port=1234 action=dst-nat protocol=tcp to-address=192.168.1.xxx to-port=1234 But if I change the machine to not use dhcp and hard code the ip (same ip as 192.168.1.xxx) instea...

Re: New Hap AC2, no internet

Looks like this is related to Mikrotik's dhcp-client ignoring vlan 0, have to setup a bridge to change the vlan to get it to work, but I think this is using extra CPU?

New Hap AC2, no internet

Hi, my previous routers all I had to do was change MAC address and they would work. I just got the Hap AC2, changed ip, changed the MAC address, and no internet, dhcp client can't get an address.
