I don't want to use v6 because we intended to replace faulty RB450G with the RB2011 which have a v5 configuration. Also when I chose the mipsbe platform in your download section I am offered v5 and the RB2011 is listed. Our attempts to upgrade existing v5 routers to v6 have not been successful. Ther...

OMG..... since September and still the same issue ? I see nothing related to a fix in this direction in the Change-log from ROS 5.20. The support file creation does not finish on the RB1100AHx2, the CPU goes up to 100% for a while and that's it. Still no console at all.

well, that is not exactly the reason why we buy hardware from the shelf rather than building our own PC platform with ROS. if i need to modify of the shelf products then they are basically not suitable. i am wondering if that is a problem which is unusual. in case it is unusual i would have the RB60...

thats what we do in the moment, just its in some cases way more than 2 hops away. can you go into more detail what you mean by "it's not a great dns resolver" ? i am open to anything that works and is also possible without putting extra hardware on some towers.

i was thinking about the same solution to have a response from the customers CPE cache very quick or if that cache does not have the information to get it from the next higher level. i have the hope to speed up the dns response time. what is the possible down side ?
