Re: More ways to earn free licenses!

Normis I need Beaurocrat or Sysop on the wiki to make it look nice and pretty. I can demo the things I will do first but that will just cause things to move a little slower. I'd like to EARN more licenses.

Re: making ip's go orange for unstable pings

I have videos for you guys...they just aren't being rendered in a format that I can upload them. It is a bit hard to see the text on the screen actually, which is not good. I am primarily using Linux, but I have it working for sure. It is sooo easy, if you monitor ping even. I don't take being calle...

Re: More ways to earn free licenses!

Normis I am working on an "error free" "extensive" wiki page, but a lot of the templates are not enabled.
{{infobox}} doesn't work for sure and a lot others are not there. How can I find out which templates are enabled?

Re: making ip's go orange for unstable pings

I think everyone is missing the point. I'm looking at a map. My map had about 200 dveices. I get a sound notification saying something went unstable. The map still shows everything green. I cant go through each one individually to see what is unstable. I have to look at my email which makes the who...

Re: making ip's go orange for unstable pings

If you change the polling interval you will get what you want...that is all there is to it.

try it and call me a liar if it doesn't work.

Re: Connected with two network-segments

What are you saying and what are the netmasks of the subnets...it looks like you have tow subnets like 10.0.5.1 and 10.0.5.2 and dude is discovering both subnets because it's set to search the whole subnet range of 10.0.5.0/24 which will discover any netmask from 0 to 254. Is this what you are askin...

Re: DUDE,WINE, AND XUBUNTU 7.04 MUY PROBLEMO

Thanks a lot DUCK...I had the fonts installed, but I had to copy them to the WINE font, directory. I don't use wine that often...I had no idea...I moved to running a VM in qemu, but now I can use ole WINE again. Thanks for helping me with my "little" problem

Re: making ip's go orange for unstable pings

Can you ping your devices from within Dude without it bringing them down...YES. If so then you can use the auto discover function but de-select all the other service probes and device types except ping; if you're really paranoid. I don't want you to flood your network, but a ping is harmless. There ...

Re: making ip's go orange for unstable pings

Try this-right click on a device-go to Polling-Change the Polling Interval to something to your liking...I don't know the default setting-Change the Down count so you'll know how many pings fail before a device turns red. This should update the map quicker without you having to click on the item to ...

Re: DUDE Discovery

Make sure you only have 1 autoscan network in the setting box or make sure you have unchecked the appropriate links on ALL autoscan networks. Go to the map and click settings then do as you did before. I'm pretty sure you have a rogue autoscan network that you aren't disabling the links and network ...

Re: Let's try something new ...

Things worked fine for me, but some were a bit slow.

“The Dude”, Dmitry Golubev took nearly 4 minutes to fully buffer.

Hotspot, Mobile networking, Butch Evans took 20 seconds

Hotspot, VPN, Mobile networking pt3 was around 25 seconds

Re: making ip's go orange for unstable pings

It's fairly simple Kay, The Dude does that automatically...whether you do auto discovery or not it will work. Auto discovery is the easiest way to add devices and their services are discovered automatically for you. The devices never turn orange because they never fail on the ping or you didn't add ...

DUDE,WINE, AND XUBUNTU 7.04 MUY PROBLEMO

I can get Dude 2.2 and the new beta to install, but neither will connect to the local server. I can connect remotely, but you can't see any of the data on the map. Anyone else have this problem...see below.

Re: Is your link color wrong for VLAN/Ethernet? link speed HOWTO

I would set the type as fast ethernet AND manually check the speed box and set the speed as 100000000. Dude auto-senses the speed, but if you use traffic shaping or throttling you can go in and change the speed according to the rate that the line actually runs at, not it's auto-sensed speed. I've fo...

Is your link color wrong for VLAN/Ethernet? link speed HOWTO

Many try to set the link speed of snmp devices by checking the box and entering 100 for fast ethernet or 10 for ethernet, but it's totally wrong. It is measured in bits...1000 bits is 1kbps. Right Click the link-Go to settings-Type-Click the three dots to the right of the field-Navigate to the link ...

Re: Step By Step For Monitoring A Remote Location

I'm not sure if you figured out what you need to do, but it is quite simple. I setup a central dude server that runs as a service on a old 533mhz box running XP Pro(Fileserver). I then make sure the machines that I use to monitor the servers are not running dude locally and only connect securely to ...
