Re: Feature Request : IPv6 Fasttrack

Australia is rolling out 1Gbps capable technology to all houses now (and over the next few years). One of the properties I manage is getting it this week, but their hAP ac2 is unable to do 1Gbps routing over IPv6. We need this. (and before you ask, every major CDN can transfer data at 800Mbps+ here.)

IPv6 adoption approaching 40% globally according to Google[1], and 25-30% according to Cloudflare[2] and Akamai[3]. This is arguably higher priority than anything related to ZeroTier / Wireguard, QoS, etc since it is a fundamental part of most networks now. [1] https://www.google.com/intl/en/ipv6/st...

Re: 7.2 - Router(s) Lock Up When Connecting via Winbox [SOLVED]

I don't "get" why anyone needs to set a bucket when using cake. Cake has its own shaper.
It's a requirement of the mikrotik QoS interface. Not setting any value here just defaults to a bucket size of 0.1.

Re: 7.2 - Router(s) Lock Up When Connecting via Winbox [SOLVED]

Funny you mention the RB5009 - that is what I use on a 1000/50 connection with cake configured and running RouterOS 7.2. Perhaps I'm not loading it up as hard as this other site is loading their 100/40 connection, but I wasn't experiencing instability. I've disabled cake on the rb5009 for now to be ...

Re: 7.2 - Router(s) Lock Up When Connecting via Winbox [SOLVED]

Router itself shouldn't be locking up from such config , let alone two separate routers with the same error-free config. Are you sure it isn't the WAN connection? Could you try lowering the MTU? I agree, I also tried 7.1.5 with the same symptoms, and I managed to get a teamviewer connection to a PC...

7.2 - Router(s) Lock Up When Connecting via Winbox [SOLVED]

I have a site which I manage remotely over the internet. (INPUT chain has a blanket allow rule from src: my static IP address for simplicity). hAP ac2 after upgrading was extremely unstable. Would crash and lock up when trying to access it via either webfig or winbox.

Worked out the CPU was running at 400MHz and set to the auto setting.

Setting manually to 716MHz seems to have fixed the problem for now.

Re: Wireguard site to site with OSPF

When I use wg and allow 0.0.0.0/0 I end up with wg's kernel routes causing havoc.

- Suddenly all traffic goes via the wg tunnel (rather than just site-to-site traffic)
- Suddenly when configuring BGP over the top, routing loops occur.

How have you mitigated that?

The issue reported was not about IPv6 and cake specifically. It was about IPv6 not working when there was a simple queue (of any type) used with an interface as the "target". Cake works fine with IPv6 with queue trees and interface queues even on 7.1.1, but not with simple queues. My unde...

My guess is you are thoroughly out of CPU on the download, not being able to crack 400Mbit. What is strange is that the resource monitor in the router would suggest it's perfectly fine doing this (40-60% util on all cores), but the numbers don't lie. You're correct I was going to test on a 100/40 l...

You should put cake as interface queue, instead of creating simple queues for it.
You can only assign a single interface queue. How do you handle asymmetric bandwidth limits?
