Re: Cannot PING or access router after firewall filter

You have probably locked yourself out; dropping every connection You can try to connect to the webinterface from another interface. If that doesn't succeed try either; the console / reset button. Reset button will reset the whole configuration. Note; in WinBox there is a safe-mode that might be hand...

Re: Almost there with Pi-Hole

HeyHey, I see some problems with your setup, but the overall picture is not clear yet so correct me if I got it wrong. The veth1 has an /32 address, I assume it should be available inside your 'docker' network/bridge then you might want to change it to /24. /32 means it's just an IP address without ...

Re: Internet issues (InvalidPackets) after upgrading ROSv6>v7 [SOLVED]

Update: I have been running ROS 7.6 for some time now, and the MTU change from 1500>1504 is likely to have caused this issue. @mkx thank you for your help WAN configuration is a bit awkward (why do you use bridgeWAN with only single port member? why set PVID if it's supposed to be tagged for that VL...

Re: Internet issues (InvalidPackets) after upgrading ROSv6>v7 [SOLVED]

Just noticed a weird setting you have: why setting l2mtu to 1500 on ether1? This means setting it lower than most gear expects it (with vlan overhead it should be at least 1504 not to cause any issues). Thank you for pointing this out, your right this is a slight misconfiguration, and I did alter i...

Re: Internet issues (InvalidPackets) after upgrading ROSv6>v7 [SOLVED]

Since your ISP is using routed upstream, it's very likely that upstream router (at least one of them) uses the weird MAC address. Thank you for the reply, I will try to create an pcap to investigate. However, if this is the case how is it that ROS 6.48 isn't having this issue with the same configur...

Re: Internet issues (InvalidPackets) after upgrading ROSv6>v7 [SOLVED]

Another attempt to upgrade; I disabled the fastpath as I thought this was causing issues, so far no luck. See the attached screenshot, got no clue what is causing this MAC: 00:0e:00:00:00:01 The connection was new, and I got an answer (but with invalid src-mac) This ROS device is directly connected ...

Internet issues (InvalidPackets) after upgrading ROSv6>v7 [SOLVED]

Hello everyone, I have been trying to upgrade my router (RB4011) from router OS v6.48.6 to v7.x The upgrade process itself works and I am able to login to the router. DHCP/DNS seems to be working -> obtains new public IP and private IPs. But then I have issues reaching websites like 'nu.nl' & 't...

Re: [SOLVED] - NTP client failing to synch.

I had the same issue, NTP-client started but not able to synchronize; I had primary/secondary & dynamic NTP servers configured. The dynamic one came from my ISP with the address: 10.12.0.20 as dynamic NTP server. I couldn't ping this address, and once I turned off 'Use Peer NTP' in my DHCP clien...

Re: RouterOS making DNS requests towards different DNS Server

There is DNS configured on the switch for 2 cases: - Sync time with NTP server. - Be able to reach MikroTik upgrade services. Doing a little digging I found the cause: - Having the option 'Detect_internet' on will create requests towards 8.8.8.8. https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Detect_internet...

RouterOS making DNS requests towards different DNS Server

Hello, I own 2 Mikrotik devices, one as switch (RB760iGS) and an router (RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD). The switch is behind the router and serves client devices. The switch is configured with a DNS client with it's server the router. In the Router I have created an firewall rule that drops traffic towards g...

Re: RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN 5Ghz disappearing

I recently upgraded from LTS 6.44.6 to 6.45.8 and since this issue has appeared 3 times.

1 Time after +/- 1 week
2/3 After 1 day.

I will produce the required files so support could take a look on it, or should I switch to 6.46 (Stable)?
