Re: PCQ queues help needed

I have some questions: 1) total queue size, it should be set to accomodate 50 packets queue * x possible total queue? Please someone explain it to me. 2) With the same configuration replicated to different towers, I am NOT able to get the expected results. In some towers it works, in other DON'T wo...

Re: Question about TCP Established and Call of Duty disconnects [SOLVED]

So what is the conclusion here.?? The conclusion is that if you handle a lot of low-traffic&long-lived, or silently dying, TCP connections, you end up with a lot of tracked connections occupying RAM but not handling any traffic. And if you need connection tracking because you need to use NAT, t...

Question about Queue not properly limiting.

Hi guys, today I have a problem.... I use Queue Tree and PCQ (=0 rate) as my Queue Type, no Simple Queues. I have a plan from my ISP which is 100 MBPS Residential and I know mostly or most cases that it is not a true 100 MBPS. I set 80 as my global max limit, the thing is that when I set a max limit...

Re: Cannot access Access Points GUI when Arp Reply-only is Set in Hotspot

Also i am confused why there are so many vlan in RouterOS. It must be that the vlan in the switch is hardware related while the bridge vlan is the Software and in the interface vlan idk. Correct. The switch chip is quite a separate entity, and if you don't need hardware forwarding between its ports...

Re: Cannot access Access Points GUI when Arp Reply-only is Set in Hotspot

I am very confused about with vlan rn... and still trying to understand it. VLAN implementation on Mikrotik or VLAN as a concept? Have you seen the @pcunite's textbook on that already? Both. Yeah i have seen that but i did not finished reading the thread. Also i am confused why there are so many vl...

Re: Cannot access Access Points GUI when Arp Reply-only is Set in Hotspot

What was the question you forgot to add to you delaration? What do you mean? In the post to which I've replied this, you've provided the information about the current topology, but you wrote nothing that would require any reaction. So I was assuming that, once you've shown the topology, there was s...

Re: Cannot access Access Points GUI when Arp Reply-only is Set in Hotspot

This way, the clients can access the management interface of the APs if they manually assign themselves addresses from 192.168.5.0/24. Hmm i see so even with the firewall rule that i have set in filter rule forward chain that will only allow the admin to access it. It's still futile and yes i have ...

Re: Cannot access Access Points GUI when Arp Reply-only is Set in Hotspot

So are there any workaround in this? In our culture, mentalism has no real tradition, so I can't see your network setup clearly. So what I assume is that you run the 192.168.5.0/24 and the 10.0.0.0/24 in the same (V)LAN, and you want to keep the arp=reply-only behavior in place for the hotspot clie...

Re: Cannot access Access Points GUI when Arp Reply-only is Set in Hotspot

My understanding right now is that the AP should respond to Mikrotik request. Except that the very point of arp=reply-only is that no request ever comes :) This setting is a poor man's substitution of 802.1x. It prevents RouterOS from sending ARP requests on that interface and thus from dynamically...

Hi guys, just wondering why i cannot access my access points User Interface / GUI when i set the hs bridge interface to reply only. Re: v6.47.4 [stable] is released!

One of my CCR1009's appears to have developed a memory leak. It had been running 6.47 and and uptime of 3.5 months and yesterday it crashed due to kernel fault, out of memory. As there was a network interruption anyway I upgraded it, to 6.47.3 as that was the newest available yesterday, and now I s...

The number of IP addresses are limited but the names are "endless".

Yeah currently, there are estimated there 10,000+ googlevideo domain. As of now my solution is using ip blocks where mostly my connection is made.

Any scripting expert here? I want to fetch a domain named ".googlevideo.com" from DNS to address-list. I saw some scripts here but i am having problems with the cpu running the script. It spikes to 35% and hovers 20-30%. I need it to run every 5-10 seconds. I am using Mikrotik Hap Ac2. The...

Tried this script and it crumbles my cpu lol. Is this normal?

Edit: I'm using Hap Ac2. Getting 30% cpu usage spike just by running a single script.

Re: Hap Ac2 CPU usage during speedtest.

Thanks for all the reply guys, really appreciate it. The reason i have so many mangles is that i want my queue tree i mean all of my user reach 80 mbps in 2 interfaces and the router will share them through pcq. The hotspot and the switch.I don't want to set per interface and do 40/40. There is actu...

That still leaves you 82% of CPU totally unused. Yeah totally unused. I could feel my Hap Ac2 heating up like an steam water vapor and i am wondering if it has a connection to my cpu usage. Even though our house got aircon, i just placed a fan at the Mikrotik logo at the left side just in case and ...

It's kind of expected for non-fasttracked traffic with queues, and as much mangle rules.
Thanks for the response. I guess i will reduce my rules even more.

Re: v6.47.2 [stable] is released!

Very bad! I have hAP ac, after updating to version 6.47.2 I can no longer connect to the 5GHz network, only the 2.4GHz network is available, although the 5GHz module in the router settings has the status "running". I would never recommend MikroTik products because the software is very uns...

Hi guys, I have a question. I have a 100 MBPS plan of my ISP. It is unlimited no data cap. The thing is when performing speed test at ookla's websit...

Re: v6.47.2 [stable] is released!

(edit) Do anyone experience opening the address-list in Winbox causes the cpu to get loaded? I mean the green graph keeps spiking per second and the cpu stucks at 1%-2% without throughput load. Even turning off all entries in address-list it still happens also turning off all my firewall and mangle ...
