Re: DHCP script not being run

Looks like I found the issue. I import the script from a file using following command in my main config script: /system script add name=dhcp-lease-script source=[ /file get dhcp-lease-script.rsc ]; This seems to add additional code to the script which prevents it from running. Removing these extra p...

Re: DHCP script not being run

I see dhcp messages that a device was unassigned and assigned again when rebooting it. But nothing related to my script. First line in the script is a log entry but I do not see any output in the logs. Script is from here and indeed quite useful (blog post is in German though): https://indibit.de/mi...

DHCP script not being run

Hello, I added a DHCP script to generate local DNS names for devices connected to my router. However, no DNS entries are generated and I cannot even confirm whether the script is run. I have added a log command at the very top but cannot see related output in the logs. The script counter gets increa...

Re: Double NAT issues using Mikrotik and Orbi

Why dont you use the Orbi as pure client? Then NAT works on MT router and Orbi stations are just access points.

Re: Winbox can not see Mikrotik wsAP AC Lite connected to router

Are ghe two devices (router, AP) on the same network? If your PC gets e.g. An IP adress on 192.168.178.x, but router/AP are connected via 10.x.x., the described behavior would appear.

Maybe posting your config would give the experts a better chance to help.

Re: where can I create a script in RouterOS?

Could I also create a script from within an .rsc file ? Or can I ftp the script contents as a file and turn them into a script from command line ?

I would like to version control my config and script outside of RouterOS, that's why I'm asking.

Re: Help separating vlans for iot and smart-tvs ?

I had understood the NAS would have to be attached to the two (all) VLANs between which the Avahi service would forward traffic ? Wouldn't any vulnerability of the Avahi service permit an attacker to get access to other VLANs in such a scenario ?

Re: Help separating vlans for iot and smart-tvs ?

Doesn‘t this introduce bridges between the various networks which can potentially become security holes ?

Re: Dt. Telekom VDSL BNG & IPTV (igmp v3)

Hallo Josef, I am interested in this as well, as I am rebuilding my network to possibly get rid of the FritzBox or use it as a modem only. There are some good descriptions around on how to achieve desired state with other vendors' equipment, e.g. here: https://www.bjoerns-techblog.de/2017/06/deutsch...

Using hex as switch?

Hello, Just found out that SwOS does not have the nice cli / command language to configure a device. I would like to store all my configs as code. Can I simply use a hex instead of a RB260GS? I just need to split a trunk connection into different untagged access ports. Any downsides in speed or some...

Re: Recommendation for CAPsMAN router device

Hi,

WAN connection is 300mbps (extension to 500 announced later this year). I would estimate internal traffic to be the same on top.

Re: Recommendation for CAPsMAN router device

Hi,

I read about some difficulties, the 4011 has with VLANs?

Can I add a switch for a dedicated VLAN in forwarding mode? 10 ports is barely enough.

Recommendation for CAPsMAN router device

Hello, i am designing a network of 6-10 VLANS (with filtered access in between VLANs) and 4-6 access points in my home, around 100 devices alltogether. Few VPN connections willcome on top. If I understand CAPsMan correctly, fully centralized management (and advanatges) is achieved using forwarding m...

Use hAP ac³ LTE6 kit for LTE redundancy

Hello, I am planning a more elaborate network infrastructure for our house with router / switch in the basement and an access points on each level (4). Could I use the hAP ac³ LTE6 kit to provide redundant WAN connectivity and use it as an access point at the same time ? So ideally, a router in the ...

Re: Inter Vlan Routing

Hello,

Above is mentioned that the hex is not able to do VLAN routing. Is that due to performance ? Or is it not able at all?

I bought one to experiment with RouterOS and set up the base for my config (incl. Inter-VLAN routing) before I move to a CRS or CCR device. Is that not possible?

Connection between SFP / SFP+

Hello,

can I somehow establish a connection between a router with an SFP port (e.g. Hex PoE or RB3011UiAS-RM) and an SFP+ port on a switch (e.g. CRS326-24G-2S+RM or CRS328-24P-4S+RM) ?
