Re: HEX S RB760iGS → console mode...?

#Woobm-USB [https://mikrotik.com/product/woobm] just got it delivered, plugged into the USB got the WoobmAP on, connected to it (hEX S - 6.47 stable) Got assigned IP address 192.168.4.1, opened web browser and there was the console. Logged in, and disabled offending firewall rule and all is working ...

*) port - removed serial console port on hEX S;

- How can I re-enable the "serial console" manually on hEX S, if it has been disabled in 6.47 please?
- Why has it been disabled in 6.47 on the hEX S?

Re: Linux WOOBM - FTDI Chip, Null Modem Cable USB - USB NMC-2.5M - FT232RL

"port - removed serial console port on hEX S" this is real shame (Why Mikrotik keeps preventing you from recovering devices using UART connection?!), but it ONLY affects on board UART pads. Not WOOBM or USB converters, they are still supported on all hardware with USB ports. I have sent e-mail to s...

Re: HEX S RB760iGS → console mode...?

I can't say that and better contact support on support@mikrotik.com this is free and give them a few days time to reply. Should have look, hate sending this kind of stuff over the e-mail. There is a Support Portal to be found here now, for those of you preferring this over sending e-mails ......: [...

Re: HEX S RB760iGS → console mode...?

Which version of RouterOS are you using? If you use a version that is lower than 6.47 then the console could work. We are not the support department of Mikrotik and users of Mikrotik products just like you. There must be a reason Mikrotik disabled the console for the hEX-S in 6.47 which not known t...

Re: Linux WOOBM - FTDI Chip, Null Modem Cable USB - USB NMC-2.5M - FT232RL

I also have Woobm but it not have completely the same features that regular adapters/cables. I tested it on a BaseBox and routerboot never appears. In summary is exactly the same as I connect though SSH/Telnet or open terminal on Winbox. What do you exactly need? Regards. I see, here it is, reason ...

RouterOS 6.47 release notes: *) port - removed serial console port on hEX S

https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=161887
So the only way is to get the "Woobm-USB" [https://mikrotik.com/product/woobm]
or this will not work as well since the serial is been removed?

Re: Linux WOOBM - FTDI Chip, Null Modem Cable USB - USB NMC-2.5M

To connect to console, first, the router must have a console port. Cables: USB to DB9: Trendnet TU-S9 DB9 to DB9: TrippLite P450-006 DB9 to RJ45: Cisco 72-3383-01 Not use generic cables/adapters, may cause problems. Regards. Confirmed working over here :( #Woobm-USB How Much Can It Do? [https://for...

Re: HEX S RB760iGS → console mode...?

First make sure USB adapter is plugged in and visible in system/ports, you can also set baudrate and other options there. Then go to system/console and add console on that port. This will be remembered as long as you plug in same USB adapter to the same USB port. I have FTDI Chip, Null Modem Cable ...

Re: HEX S RB760iGS → console mode...?

You can use USB to serial adapter for console, however console will not be spawned on it by default. So in case where you already have inaccessible device (like after FW misconfiguration) you can't just plug in USB to serial cable and get console, it has to be first configured to run like that. WOO...

Re: RB953GS-5HnT locked out

Ok thank you for all your help and suggestions. I am beginning to think there is something wrong with the ethernet ports of the unit as Wireshark does not show anything on any of the ports I tried. I ordered a Serial-USB cable and will try to work with that. Will report back when it arrives. Thanks...

Firewall + pppoe/ether1 with /28 IPv4 on LAN side

I have SOHO and friend of mine recommended to switch to MikroTik for versitality of their products running RouterOS. So purchased hEX S and cAP ac that is connected via PoE to the hEX S. My "hEX S" has "ether1" connected to VDSL Modem via "pppoe-out1" connection. Ports "spf1,ether2,ether3,ether4,eth...
