Re: CCR2004-1G-2XS-PCIe possible drivers Linux6.5.7 issue; PCI finds, but no eth interfaces [SOLVED]

Ran ~# grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg and rebooted. And now interfaces shows up. No idea why it helped. Maybe this script added some needed dependency or kernel module on boot. Also I don't need boot delay, because of LUKS full-disk encryption takes time on boot to unlock the drive anyways. dm...

Re: WinBox v3.40 released!

another update without dark mode ! why u make them hard live? what that will change? It will make people to not become narrow-eyed every time Winbox opens in dark room with dark-themed OS. Also it probably won't happen until complete UI component library redesign (basically Winbox rewrite). Real so...

EndeavourOS ArchLinux KDE Plasma Linux GRUB. Everything up-to-date, not very custom under hood. Under Windows I planned to use slower MGMT Ethernet port it has (I don't need more than 1G on Windows anyways) which would be plugged back into itself (motherboard built-in ethernet). Also maybe someday r...

CCR2004-1G-2XS-PCIe possible drivers Linux6.5.7 issue; PCI finds, but no eth interfaces [SOLVED]

Just received the card and installed it into PC. Network adapters from this card not appearing in ifconfig at all. Network card is put in gaming/workstation rig (to externalize firewall and easy familiar configing for dual-boot LinuxWindows PC). Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) third P...

RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN Antennas not tight

Probably due to heat I notices that antennas are not holding their positions anymore. Antennas are going down like dying flowers. When I first got it, antennas were tightly holding, now they are spinning almost freely.

How do I fix it ?

Re: DHCP issues 7.1beta6 ESP8266 / ESP32

Add firewall passthrough rules with logging. It may help to detect what is going on.

Also it is possible to setup WireShark to see what going through Mikrotik and your ESP32.

The lower STP bridge priority, the more likely it will be elected as root bridge/switch. The lower STP port priority, the more likely it will be elected as active port. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ilpmn-H8UgE&list=PLSNNzog5eydtmcbcbc1b8pVRkgre3vNUy&index=4&ab_channel=SunnyClassroom I...

Re: Mikrotik HWMP+ Ethernet not joining into mesh

For L3 packet routing (instead of STP/RSTP/MSTP) I would probably use OSPF+dynamicWDS+staticRouterIP+uniqueSubnet+loopbackInterface for each router. But this means then user is roaming between APs, his IP is constantly changing (unless user is inside VPN on top of OSPF network). I wanted to use only...

Re: Mikrotik HWMP+ Ethernet not joining into mesh

I decided to use L2 MSTP (or RSTP if you like) plus dynamic WDS, and one bridge per router. WDS interfaces are dynamically added to the bridge as in Mesh scenario. For controlling weights/costs I set wlan5G interface def50 range50-100 For wlan2G I set def200 range100-300 MSTP dynamically updates cos...

Re: Mikrotik HWMP+ Ethernet not joining into mesh

Soo for new learners I would say that Mesh interface that you create in Mikrotik acts very similary as the bridge interface itself. Then you add mesh-ports if you select ethernet or wireless port-type, it means clients (outsiders) will be able to connect through it. WDS mesh-port type is used to int...

Re: Mikrotik HWMP+ Ethernet not joining into mesh

This is not old post, I created it 3hr ago ^^ My current progress is what you also just said: "ethernet mesh port type=WDS" for ethernet ports. I also dodged idea of using CAPsMAN with Mesh combination, because for CAPsMAN you would need one wlan which SSID is constant (for uninterrupted n...

Mikrotik HWMP+ Ethernet not joining into mesh

Hello, strangely there aren't many resources on how to make Mikrotik mesh networks. I use RouterOS6.48.3. I have many wAPac and cAPac, but currently I tried basic mesh with one portal and one node. I have tried this tutorial: https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=8978441 Connec...

Re: v7.1beta6 [development] is released!

Side note, so we all agree that there are devices out there (ex.: Chateau), on shelves, required to be run on a nightly build. Is that what we're saying here. And the manufacturer is posting memes about it. Okay.. Agree, I find it hard to believe that the RBD53G-5HacD2HnD-TC&EG12-EA was release...

Yes, I do. I've been doing software for 2 decades for a living. I'd be ashamed to deliver such consistently untested software This "beta" thing has been absolute shitshow Do you know what BETA is ? Well, then you should also know what "development" branch/channel is... 7.1 is in...

Re: [Bug] HTTP Fetch as-value crashes in script when query fails. [SOLVED]

I am also using script I posted above and for now I added additional hacky workaround: Added netwatch 192.168.88.20 IP with 1s interval with no UP event and DOWN event script is /ip dns set servers=1.1.1.1,8.8.8.8,1.0.0.1,8.8.4.4 :delay 5 /ip dns set servers=1.1.1.1,8.8.8.8,1.0.0.1,8.8.4.4 I added r...

(PiHole healthcheck) HTTP Fetch as-value crashes in script when query fails. [SOLVED]

RouterOS 6.48beta58; RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN Then I use fetch as-value I get _exception_ which terminates my whole script. But then I use normal fetch I get normal result with status=failure. Then I try to print as-value result to log, nothing appears too. I expected to get failure status as variable...
