We need SFP too. If you connect to other TELCO, Exchange center, ISP you have to use SFP. We use 3 gigabit media converter now with the RB1000 to connect to our partners at a large data center.

You have to have clean line of sigth so you have to take your antennas high enough on a tower, building, anything. Also you have to check fresnel zone. Normis,

Not only the measurement changed, but the 3.10 need more power than 2.9.51. This was discussed on a lot of post in this forum. My oppinion is that if don't need any function which is only in 3.x then use 2.9.51 for rb1xx series router boards.

My opinion is that the rb133 are slow for the v3. Use 2.9.x on this boards or turn off everything what you don't need (connection tracking, not needed packages) and try it.

I have a couple of rb133 and rb153. Every of these is for bridging only (wireless to ethernet). No routing on it, no firewall, no connection tracking. Works very well with 2.9.51. The ospf in 3.6 is much more reliable then 2.9.51 (but still has some very small bug). But before you upgrade check that your routers work with 3.6, because it needs more cpu capacity than 2.9.51.

I use the Freeradius and MT setup too with Mysql database backend. Works very well. You have to check the wiki, there is a complet solution for setup.
My recomendation is that always use a good pc for freeradius and use UPS, because the database is sometimes broken on mysql after power failure.
