Hotspot: iOS clients capatlizing username and/or password

Recently, I am having a LOT of issues with iOS users getting the first letter of their username and/or password capitalized when they signup but not when they later try to signin. This is causing a fair number of support calls and complaints... As it is ONLY iOS gear that has this problem, and not a...

Re: NS2, Tranzeo and MikroTik 532A/XR2 AP

You are where I was a few years ago... Did this myself... From AP-1000's with lucent card and amp to routerboard and xr2's Get the Hermes client(s) out of the system. Get the Tranzeo 80's out of the system. It will be a bit unstable until you do. All your remaining clients should be able to handle s...

It was the scan list.

Figured it out a few days ago with the guys on the UBNT forums.

Thanks, though.

XR5 in routerboard in the 5.4-5.7GHz bands...

I have been unable to connect 2 XR5 cards in RB433's in the 5.4-5.7GHz bands. ROS 5.14 on all gear. In super channel mode. For testing, no_country_set Supposedly, the XR5 is fully supported in the 5.4-5.7GHz band when used with DFS. MT supports DFS. I can get the cards to connect in the 5180-5320MHz...

Weird pulsing

Having a weird 'pulse' in my core MT router... The attached file is a .jpg showing traffic graphs on my core routers 3 main interfaces... Top interface is an XR2 radio card connecting me to one of my upstream bandwidth providers. Middle interface is an ethernet port connecting me to my other upstrea...

Software ID and key vanished! 23 hours remaining!

HELP! My x-86 2.4GHz Intel P4 MikroTik router has suddenly lost its software ID, license key, admin passwords, admin user accounts, and now reports ~23 hours until it expires. It is also reporting a level 0 license. This unit was upgraded from 3.30 to 4.6 on MAR11, 2010. New license keys were genera...

What does the '-SP' mean?

Hi all.

The title says it all....

What does the '-SP' after a Tx or Rx rate in the wireless registration table, (in WinBox), mean?

I seem to get this from time to time, and when it shows up, that client has problems...

Anybody know?

Separate masquerades for separate networks

Hi all. My main router, x86 Mikrotik 3.17, serves a large number of networks, each with its own private IP range. Each network has many different users, and these users can change IP, (within their own private network), and add or remove users as needed. Right now, all the networks masquerade out th...

Re: NS2, Tranzeo and MikroTik 532A/XR2 AP

Well, the main effect of disabling the 36M,48M and 54M Tx rates on the AP is to make all of my b/g tranzeo clients report 24M instead of 48M or 54M. These clients then see reduced download speeds of about 30%. from 5-7Mb/s download to 4-5Mb/s download. Not a huge difference, but noticeable. The ping...

Re: NS2, Tranzeo and MikroTik 532A/XR2 AP

The NS2's are all set to select their Tx rate automatically. The -92 client, an old tranzeo unit, preforms flawlessly. 3Mb/s. I am forced to believe that the -92 reading that is displayed is false. Changing the hardware retries has no effect that I can see. overall Tx CCQ remains varying from 85% to...

NS2, Tranzeo and MikroTik 532A/XR2 AP

This is also being posted to Tranzeo and Ubquity. Sunday, I replaced an old,(6 years in service!), Hermes I based AP, (base mounted radio, top mounted 1W amp, 150ft LMR-400) with a top mounted RB532A 5.8GHz backhaul and 2.4GHz AP. The radio card for the AP is an XR2 into a 9db Comet omni. 8ft of LMR...

Some websites are taking forever to respond and often timeou

Some websites are taking forever to respond and often timeout when accessing them. All websites with problems are HTTPS, but not all HTTPS sites are affected. Problem appeared after switching from a T1/Cyclades card to DSL using PPPoE as our uplink to the internet. Users directly connected to the ro...

Sorry to disagree, but, amps can work just fine if you use high quality units and engineer your system properly. I have 27 outdoor amps in service, a mixture of Hyperlink and RF Linx units. My network has been in operation for 7 years and the amps are far less troublesome than the other electronics ...
