Re: hardware idea for a multiport switch

For ultra high port density may be go for co packaged optics ? Integrate optics into the switch.

Make it modular: 1U chassis and small modules to select port speed / transceiver type .

Will MLAG work well with jumbo frames now, how does it depend on L3 hardware offload?

What is the purpose of changing? This switch have some software issues so do not change if you do not know why.

Re: Bridge Mikrotik Routers through SFP [SOLVED]

Any pair o short range of MMF LC Gigabit transceivers should fit.
I have not seen sfp SC transceivers for short range.

Mikrotik example S-85DLC05D
They should work without any setup.

Re: hardware idea for a multiport switch

By the way: EARS cause a lot of problems when mounting, demounting from rack, full of 1U servers and cables. Especially, if you have some switches on top of the rack and you have to place under other switches. Would be cool if first you mount light rails and then you mount a switch without ears insi...

Re: SFP+ cable recommendations

Used HP SFP+ adapters are rather cheap, like HP NC522sfp NC523sfp and others , but you need pci fan for cooling the adapter.

Re: new feature request MLAG!!!

I'd be happy with the ability to just be able to run an MLAG. There is currently no way for one to create a redundant LAG across 2 switches for redundancy. https://www.redpill-linpro.com/techblog/images/posts/20180226-MLAG-topology.png Anyone have a workaround to be able to bond 2 connections from ...
