Re: The Dude, v6.38 [current] release.

DFS-mode selections gone, and wireless set to fixed radar detect on. For good, or just a miss?
5815 to 5850 MHz dissappeared a long time ago from "norway 5.8 p-p". Why did it disappear, and is there a chance to get them back? It's still legal for use in norway.

Re: v6.34.2 [current] is released!

Upgrading two neighbour p2p link using frequency table Norway 5.8 p-p. Links based on RB433AH/R52HnD using 5740 20/40MHz Ce and 5830 20 MHz. 5830 and up is not longer present on 3 of the units, and they both were placed on 5740 during upgrade. Bug or change? Fast path working fine but some ether-por...

Re: v6.33.3 [current] is released!

No, it has not dissapeared. Same oid in 6.33 as before at the same location as in 6.27. Third line under mtxrWIRtabEntry (snmp Walk) - 1 and it ends with what I believe is decimal Mac. From v6.27 I get oid 1.3.6.1.4.1.14988.1.1.1.2.1.12 .212.202.109.16.56.66.2 From v6.33 I get oid 1.3.6.1.4.1.14988....

Re: v6.33.3 [current] is released!

Somwhere after v6.27 my very useful oid for measuring snr in wlan dissappeared. It's still missing and I wonder if there is no other out there using this logging feature... I'm still running 6.27 because of this.

Re: QoS on clean switch

Don'work.. Cannot see traffic in mangle so I believe either the traffic cannot be cached by L7 protocol or marked in Mangle. Something there is'n correct. Added a config copy with reduced L7 mangle and Queue Tree just for testing purpose. This QoS routine was written for routers and it seems not to ...

Re: QoS on clean switch

Done. Use firewall on bridge, and connection tracking in firewall. It works if I in my test setup specify the computers IP-address, but not if I want to specify a port or a port cluster connected to a bridge. Test setup on a RB450 Ether1 is wan port and bridge is local ports wanted to be affected by...

QoS on clean switch

I've been using a QoS script from the guy calling himself bax, and it still works exellent for my purpose. Is it possible to use mangle and Queue-tree on a clean CCR switch? I have tried a lot of different setups, but cannot get it to queue traffic. The switch has no nat or routing. Just a bridge wi...

Re: ROS 5.22 locks RB 133C3

Strange... Upgraded to ROS 5.22 on some RB411, RB711 and RB133C3. Only RB133C and (correction) RB112 made trouble. In AP's wireless registration table they some times show private IP as Last IP. I have never seen that before, and for me it seems that the firewall in RB1xx is "leaking" loca...

ROS 5.22 locks RB 133C3

I have had some RB133C3's running on ros 5.20 almoust troublefree for a long time. Some unused packages were uninstalled for better performance. Upgraded to ros 5.22 and hell was loose. Connection between wlan and ethernet got mostly broken, and downgrading didn't help. Configuration seems OK. Reset...

Re: 5.0rc9 "lost connection, medium access timeout"

CASE CLOSED! My troubleful link is built by relatively big dishes for narrowing the beam, and by that decrease the sea reflections as much as possible. The result was too high input levels. The most helpful changes was to decrease transmit power on both ends, an maybe some improvements in OS. I stil...

Re: 5.0rc9 "lost connection, medium access timeout"

My longest oversea link still gets a lot of drops coursed of synchronization timeout. The solution with changing authentication method works exellent on all other links, but this one is for sure suffering of reflections from calm sea. According to the Rx log it seems for me that the signal is being ...

Re: 5.0rc9 "lost connection, medium access timeout"

I've had two new drops in my modified 9 kilometer link. One at a high traffic point as You said (not possible for me to know if it was at a TV commercial break), and one when most people are in dreamland and almost no traffic. The log says "lost connection, synchronization timeout" and the...

Some Additions: I ve just checked two other links, and they too has the same dropouts. The OS on one of them is 4.17. The present log on one of them did not indicate that the station was trying another AP. I could not see more than two drops coursed a lot of other log listings so I don't know what h...

The distance is about 9 kilometers mostly over sea water. Rx level varies between about -50 to -70 dBm coursed by difference in sea levels. Since last ther has been no dropouts at all. Before changing the log told me that the station was trying to connect to other AP's present in the area, and I'm w...

Upgraded a live RB133 running nv2 from ROS4.16 to 5.2 for testing. Before upgrading the bottom line cpu-usage was about 9%, and rised to about 11%. Opening "new terminal" still gives a cpu-load at 100% for a while but seems to calm down a little bit earlier than before. Don't try to open n...

Re: Redundant power inputs

Some of You might like this solution. It's relatively cheap, and You can afford to install a second onethrough a diode to get full redundance both on power and UPS. Exellent for AP's and Links. The psu behind the diode should have the battery connected and be adjusted about 2 volts lower to get it w...

Some probes shown as "not available" in device services. New Function probe has a default text Available=1, Value=2+2.
If I delete the old probe and makes a new similar one it will work, but it gives me a lot to do... Fix in a hurry??

Interesting stuff here... It seems to be a question of survival even for a small isp as me. I'm having the same problems as mentioned above and tried a while ago to limit connections. No Luck. One customer had over 1K open udp-connections and the tcp-limiter had of course very limited effect, if any...
