Re: Port forward with multiple gateways

So is the initial setup the same? Just plug in the internet device to WAN2/eth3 and assign an IP? Or is there something else at that point that needs to be done? Then setup marking....by that do you mean Mangle? Or with what mechanism or what area and I setting up "mark packets"? And then how do I r...

Port forward with multiple gateways

Hi folks, I have a setup where there's a Mikrotik router, WAN/eth1 and LAN/eth2 interfaces. Everything is setup and works just fine. The WAN connection is internet one and we do port forwarding for ports such as 80, 443, etc. All works. We've now added a second internet connection. I was thinking I ...

Re: Errors when establishing a PPTP tunnel

Awesome! That did it. I thought it was telling me something but I wasn't familiar with Protocol 47, and in the protocol list, when creating a new rule, it doesn't say 47 until AFTER you select GRE. So a new rule allowing GRE (ie. protocol 47) did the trick. I don't think I've ever had to do that bef...

Errors when establishing a PPTP tunnel

I am trying to establish a PPTP tunnel from one Mikrotik box to another. I've done this before on other boxes and it's worked fine. However when I try it now, on the PPTP server I get the following log entry: 16:54:18 pptp, info TCP connection established from 67.177.xxx.xxx 16:54:18 pptp, ppp, info <p...

Using Public Routeable IP's behind firewall/router

I've setup NAT many times, and used multiple Public IP's on the WAN interface - but I've never had multiple Public IP blocks I could use inside. I have a x.x.x.248/29 block that I'm using on the WAN/Public side - ether1 I have a x.x.x.128/28 block that I'm using on the LAN/Private side - ether2 I've...

Re: ovpn can't support lzo compress?

Hi MRZ, So when you say "not yet," do you mean Not Yet we're putting into one of the next revisions? Or do you mean Not Yet, we don't really have this on the table and probably wont? :) Just curious. Our problem is that we have about 60 locations already deployed with OpenVPN using DD-WRT. But those...

Re: ovpn can't support lzo compress?

I too am in need of LZO compression over UDP. I went to the Feature Request page - http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/MikroTik_RouterOS/Feature_Requests But the only OpenVPN request I see is: (Votes: 18) OpenVPN support (with virtual Ethernet interface and support TCP transport support) Which doesn't sou...

RB44G - on Linux or VMWare ESXi

Hi All, I've been working with Routerboards for quite sometime, but I'm now looking at setting up a virtualization environment. I'd like to pick up the RB44G, but while drivers seem to be available for most OS's, some sites mention that not all the onboard NIC's will show as active - or rather the O...

IPSec VPN - Bankdwidth problems

Hi All, I've setup two Routerboards with an IPSec VPN tunnel using these instructions: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/IPSec_VPN_with_Dynamic_Routing_/_Mikrotik_and_Cisco Everything seemed to work fine, can ping on both sides, can remote servers through the tunnel, but then I setup a web server on one...

OK - so the original issue is resolved. However now I'm getting intermittent link drops. I can view the RB112 host and do a scan and see that the client totally drops it's signal, ie. it stops broadcasting and then after a minute or two will come back. If I leave the host in scanning mode, the clien...

Hey guys - thanks for the info. So I did ditch the NStream for this link - it's a very short link and I wasn't seeing any performance increase. I talked to the guys over at Wisp-Router and they said that in many cases the RB112's just use too much CPU (like you all mentioned) and give a kernel panic...

Mikrotik - RB112 - Backhaul-PtP

Hi Guys, I'm running into some issues with setting up a Mikrotik RB112 Point to Point link. I have 2 RB112 units each with a CM9 card running over POE. 1 is set to Ap-Bridge mode with WDS enabled (we'll call it the host) and 1 is set to Station-Wds (we'll call it the client). I'm using 2.4Ghz-G-Turb...

I love you ...... in a purely platonic soft of way .

I was thinking that even without a bridge I shoud be able to ping the WLAN1 interface, but oh well - yeah it works.

Now on to the more difficult stuff. :)

I've noticed this in two situations for myself - one is if you have any type of dynamic configuration going on. I haven't figured out the areas that are getting updated, but if you have DHCP server that is not static running somewhere, some routes will get updated and all of a sudden they have inter...

I intend to use CB3's with my MT as well, but haven't got that far yet - still testing the MT 532. However if I'm not mistaken the "radio-name" only shows up if using Atheros cards http://www.mikrotik.com/docs/ros/2.8/interface/wireless I believe the cards inside the CB3's (assuming you're using the...

This is exactly what I'm trying to do. I already have an MT Router, works great, I've been using a CB3 as an AP and want to replace it. So I have an MT 532 now - straight out of the box, nothings really configed. I have an Atheros mini-PCI. I setup the AP under WIRELESS -> INTERFACES - I've added IP...
