Re: how to hide the public ip address from network users ?

Also what if the page doesn't use a URL that obviously marks it as a "What's my ip" site or some such and then uses SSL?

Re: how to hide the public ip address from network users ?

Yes, but even gmail shows the last and current address accessed from, are you going to block that?

New ipv6 address pools in 5.8

So are the new ipv6 pools supposed to be an implementation of DHCPv6 and if so how do you set the M and O flags in router advertisements?

Other companies re branding routerboards?

Found this that our subcontractor had purchased for a project and noticed it looked strangely familiar...

Of note, it does not run RouterOS.

Re: Show us your map

Rather basic map done for one of our contracts, would have had rf input power charted but Nera never got off their lazy asses to send the snmp mib for their gear. All icons on this map are links to submaps. I should note that the network is still being deployed. And is not yet in production. main.png

Re: Metarouter images

I have just upgraded routerOS ver 5 final on my 493G, and then tried the metarouter image. Import was ok. At first it seemed better, the console was responsive, so I started reconfigure. after I typed "uci set network...." it freezes, then the router suddenly restarted itself twice. Does ...

Getting decent maps into The Dude

For a long time I've had to take screenshots from google maps this always results in a smaller map image than i would like and has all the google map controls on it. I recently came across this program Mobile Atlas Creator it will allow you to download and patch together map tiles from a number of s...

Re: dude and google map api

Another place for mapping info is the openstreetmap, it has less restrictive licensing issues so using it may be a possibility.

Re: Coffee shop wireless

Is that to say i can just replicate the settings on the other card just on a different channel and clients will "balance" across them automatically?

Coffee shop wireless

Alright so I've searched around the forums and the wiki and I can't find what I'm looking for, so I apologize if this has been discussed before. I administer the network of two coffee shops, one just hasn't been finished yet. We recently put in a rb433AH at the first with an r2n as the AP card and i...

Re: dude and google map api

What if we (the users) were required to get the api key, as opposed to you guys having one for the whole product? I don't know if that helps with the legal front or not.

Re: Losing connections intermittently

sent in autosupout, waiting for reply. New observations: either dhcp is going down and when a wireless client connects they can't get an address or it only stops routing to the wireless interface (ubiquiti SR2). Also i can't connect to the router via winbox or ssh and haven't had the chance to conne...

Losing connections intermittently

I'm running 5b3 on an rb532a as a simple gateway router with ipv6 tunneling and devices are losing their connections periodically ending with me rebooting the router (if i'm present) or the problem fixing itself over some time. nothing is apparent in the log and nothing is being echoed to the consol...

Re: IPv6 and SixXS (6to4)

So I've tried this with my tunnel information and it doesn't work. the thing that I don't get is that a 6to4 interface is not what should be used, what should be used is something like a cisco ipv6ip tunnel which is not the same. So i don't even know how yours worked to begin with.
