Again, I see nothing about it being accessible via the web. How, where?

Two issues with this: - It runs only on winbox/webUI of the device itself. But this is a remote, off-premise, storage/processing option. Nice, but that would cost you extra data/traffic to/from your WAN as well, and I don't think that's a good idea. It would even interfere with all the intended/normal traffic.

Regarding traffic logging. This is not some easy thing to do and will require lots of space and resources to log everything. Shocking that such basic functionality is missing for the Graphing tool or web-interface. Really.
It's the most important value these days. Speeds are of no value. Total usage data (i.e. GB/day, GB/month) is what people pay for in every stage of the internet connectivity.

Re: v7.1rc4 [development] is released!

If it's stuck on calculating download size then you need to remove any extra packages that are installed.
None. It's as it was by default. Never added any extras.

Re: v7.1rc4 [development] is released!

So, is the download server for dev release down? Trying to update a RB 850Gx2 (PPC) with the dev release, but winbox keeps saying "calculating download size" and hangs on that. While trying any other package option (long-term, stable, testing) they all download fluently. Something I'm mis...

Re: Recommend way to block Ads with Mikrotik

You don't understand me. I'm looking for similar solution like Pi-hole but for mikrotik. Some script. Don' want use adblock, ublock etc in my computers and mobile devices. But that would put pi-hole out of business, a very ruthless move on the part of MT. PiHole is not a business, it is an open sou...

Re: Mikrotik wi-fi and Iphone = problem

The theme in this thread is most people showing their configs are using RTS/CTS. There are a few blog posts from 2012 that show that Apple products do weird stuff with CTS. I had major issues with Apple, and it seems they stopped when I stopped using RTS/CTS. So anyone having issues with Apple and ...

Re: v7.1rc4 [development] is released!

Most of us are more interested in when the stable v7 is released (with the newer cake/fq_codel supporting linux kernels), because honestly, cake is what everybody needs (now) and is waiting for. And, not unimportant, many other big brands are already using it. So, users are fleeing towards those oth...

Latest version ROS (6.48.4) and latest Stable firmware (6.48.4), for a - RBMetalG-52SHPacn (only set up as a 2.4GHz AP) and a - RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD (as a 5GHz AP). Both wireless APs have serious issues with iPhones, iPads and iMacs (i.e. IOS), but not ever with android phones or Intel wifi laptop ni...

Re: Interface queue type

Yes I did read the wiki page. Still no explanation on pros and cons of ethernet-default and why it is so much faster than hardware-only. I would, 6 years later, still have to agree. mikrotik offers granular control over what queue type (or "Kind" as mikrotik calls it) to use for what conn...

Re: v7.1rc3 [development] is released!

Hey MikroTik, how to use the cake-autorate-ingress flag of cake? cake qdisc defaults to egress according to linux docs. No way to tell it, that it is ingress instead. So if you set cake-bandwidth to 50mbit and enable autoingress: it works for some minutes to finally reduce to 1mbit approx. I assume...

Re: v7.1rc2 [development] is released!

FYI; Packages update towards the testing version for our Metal 52ac bricked the device. Have to do a netinstall in order to get it back to life again, I guess. Pretty cumbersome, because it is mounted outdoors on a high mast, which I can't reach in the dark, so I need to tell the users to wait it ou...

Re: ZeroTier added to RouterOS v7rc2

Why not, you can install iPhone Zerotier client and then join your home LAN with this. People keep stating how 'simple' and 'easy' it should be to setup a zerotier link, but I can assure you: It's not. And everytime I tried it, and by now that's about 5 times over the last 5 years, it did not work,...

Re: v7.1rc2 [development] is released!

My ISP tells me they fixed their bufferbloat issues, i.e. guessing they switched to fq_codel, or cake. So, it's time to also switch our mikrotik devices ques and buffers. Apparently I would have to upgrade to the latest 7.1 rc version, and then add the queue types? Is there a short how-to for that a...
