I was trying to add an RDP probe today by adding a new TCP probe and setting the port to 3389 and checking the "Connect Only" check box.

This does not work.

I think the "Connect Only" option on probes is just broken in The Dude 3.4.

What about the "HTTP Proxy" setting in the Server Profiles where you can specify an external proxy server to use?

If we did set up an external proxy server and configured hotspot to use it, would this completely bypass the internal proxy server?

I tried the SBE DS3 PCI card in 3.x and it does not seem to work. The card shows up in ROS, but is disabled after every reboot and doesn't seem to function after you enable it.

This card has been discontinued and is no longer available through the manufacturer.

It works fine in 2.9.x.

Update: After downgrading from 3.11 to 3.10 the problem persisted. We just downgraded from 3.10 to 2.9.51 and now the redirect through the Walled Garden is working again. Thanks for your reply. I actually saw that post earlier as we were trying to troubleshoot this and tried it. Things didn't seem to change at all and we were still having the problems.

Any other ideas? Is there a real issue with ROS 3.x hotspot that has not yet been resolved?

We are also experiencing this problem. We're trying everything mentioned here and nothing seems to be working. Walled Garden addresses in Hotspot on 3.x are not working.

Has anyone tried using an external proxy server?

We're still seeing this. We set the client to "Station-WDS" mode or "Station-Pseudobridge" Mode and it will immediately switch itself to "Station" mode before attempting to connect.

We are having very similar problems running hotspot. It seems to affect things going through IP Binding bypass. When we add IP addresses into the IP Binding Bypass list on hotspot, they will not get access to some websites. The TCP MSS rules don't help in this case.

We have this problem on several sectors.

We have added static ARP entries for the offending clients and this solves the problem.

We do not have an explanation for why this occurs in some situations and not others.

FYI:
The problem here ended up being that we put one of the 5.8 units into NStream mode. This caused the problem. When we disabled NStream on the one unit (so neither unit is running NStream) the performance went back to normal.

This happens to us but only if the server loses power. On a normal reboot, it will keep settings, but if power is lost, Dude comes back up with no settings.
