Apart from inspecting logs etc. consider hardware issues too.
LTE USB sticks are known for USB power issues, which is why e.g. those https://www.olimex.com/Products/USB-Modules/USB-CAP/ exists. This solved some "weird" behaviour of USB LTE sticks for me in the past.
