Re: Feature request - DNSCrypt support...

Seriously, thank you to MT for implementing DoH at least.

+1 for DoT though, as they are both different and have their own strengths and weaknesses. As DoH is already implemented, it should be trivial to implement DoT, especially with how well-documented and well-supported it is by most of the world.

Re: LLDP

I felt LLDP features (without WebFig support) were introduced with 6.48.1 or so. I don't know if it covered LLDP-MED (nor I didn't test it yet). I just checked and it looks like they were, but 6.48.x (all Stable releases) is currently badly broken: webfig is broken, winbox constantly loses connecti...

Re: LLDP

+1, this is not an optional thing, it is required in most enterprise environements. Need LLDP-MED, even if it's just an installable package.

Re: Web Access in Dude Server 6.45.7

Was just about to try a netinstall when it started working! after having mostly configured my Dude server in the Windows client, it started showing up in webfig. No reboot, no reinstall, just started showing up. So, so weird.

Re: Web Access in Dude Server 6.45.7

update: I have resorted to spinning up an unlicensed Windows 10 VM to run Winbox and Dude software client and it's working (I think). At the very least it's showing up now. Still nothing in webfig though. I'll freely admit I'm a linux snob and just hate having to use Windows for anything, and while ...

Re: Web Access in Dude Server 6.45.7

kennnnnnnneth, please let us know the device model you are using here. I am using a RB760iGS hEX S running 6.47.9 (long-term). I finally broke down last night and nuked my configuration and rebuilt it and still could not get Dude to show up. It's generating files and is "running" but inac...

Re: Web Access in Dude Server 6.45.7

I did check that out, but I have never used a custom skin, I like being able to see absolutely everything. I did attempt to navigate to https://myrouter/webfig/#Dude:Network_Maps and a few others i see in your screenshot (with myrouter replaced with my router's IP), but each time I get bounced back ...

Re: Does hEX S not support VLANs on trunks? [SOLVED]

Is this with firewall filters? And do you use connection tracking and fasttrack? Or just some matches on input/output interface? oops I didn't even see your reply. Yes, that is with a whole buttload of filters - turns out, I'm the paranoid type - and yes I have both connection tracking and fasttrac...

Re: Can't access hosts via certain ports from a computer connected to an hEX-S

I am starting to read about (your suggestions regarding) using a single bridge and VLANs. It seems a bit counterintuitive to me at first, but the " Router-Switch-AP (all in one) " post seems exactly on point with a very common usage case for me and my clients. Curious: although it's proba...

Re: The Dude installed & enabled but not working

Having the same problem. I didn't install the wrong version. I have a hEX S running 6.47.9 long term, installed the 6.47.9 long term mmips server package. In the CLI I set: /dude set data-directory=disk1/dude-data enabled=yes and /dude print produces: enabled: yes data-directory: disk1/dude-data sta...

Re: Web Access in Dude Server 6.45.7

How is this done? I have installed dude, enabled it, it is running, but there is absolutely no way to access it from webfig. I even navigate to https://myrouter/webfig/#Dude and it just takes me to the quick setup page.

Dude is 100% running, but also apparently doesn't work in webfig??

Re: Does hEX S not support VLANs on trunks? [SOLVED]

Got it all fixed up and have been playing with firewalls. The speeds are great inter-vlan, I was eyeing the RB4011 but I think it may even be overkill. The hEX S performs very well. Next challenge is to figure out IPv6! The iperf3 tests were eerily consistent... I think this is just the best I'm goi...

Re: Does hEX S not support VLANs on trunks? [SOLVED]

Ok you want to have the SFP1 on the "internal" side and then trunked to the switch. I understood that it would be the uplink to an existing network with VLANs. When you want to do that it is possible to omit that VLAN aware bridge and use only VLAN subinterfaces on the SFP1 interface, the...

Re: Does hEX S not support VLANs on trunks? [SOLVED]

You can run winbox under wine on Linux or MacOS. It is not really clear if you want to configure your hEX S as a router or as a switch. It is easy to configure a trunk on sfp1, just add a number of VLAN sub-interfaces to it each with the proper VLAN ID. But of course then you want to do some things...

Re: Does hEX S not support VLANs on trunks? [SOLVED]

Thank you!! pcunite's guide is extremely helpful - I was getting hung up on MikroTik's... uhh.. very creative implementation of VLANs. All it took was reading the config files all the way thru and it sorta "clicked". In my lab I am using a hEX S as the base network router, trunked to a CSS...

Does hEX S not support VLANs on trunks? [SOLVED]

Hi, I am new to the MikroTik ecosystem. I am a telecommunications engineer with a very strong background in data networking. I have worked with Netgear, Ubiquiti (both Unifi and Edgemax lines, usually in the command line because most GUIs suck), and some light Cisco experience. In those ecosystems I...
