Re: CRS106-1C-5S PoE-IN working ?

Read the specs. Both devices use different POE schemes.

CRS106 PoE In = passive POE 11-30V
CRS310: PoE in = 802.3 af/at 18-57 V

What works for one, may not work for the other depending on the power source you give them.
E.g. typically 802.3 POE is 48V or about. CRS106 does not accept that voltage.

Looking at the block diagram of that thing, it is oddly designed ...

9-10 as well BUT with a PCIe controller in between.

Default RB1200 has NO config, only fixed IP on ether1 and nothing else.

Re: Only offline update of WLAN only devices over 12.1? [SOLVED]

If you use the normal upgrade proces (System / upgrade packages / Download and install) then 7.13 will "automagically" take care of required extra packages where needed (actually, the hooks are present in 7.12 since that's the one doing the download). It's even so that on some device NOT h...

Depends on how you set that parameter.
You can choose not to let it be handled automatically (I don't use automatic upgrade. _I_ will decide when an upgrade happens on my devices, nobody else).

Best option for your requirements:
capsman and vlan.
You don't need a separate controller, one of the caps can do it easily.
Any other option will require you to make workaround after workaround on 3 different devices and maybe still have some loopholes in it.

No need to sugarcoat it any further.

Simplest way I think:
Firewall rule, forwarding chain, drop all with connection state = new towards that out-interface.
Place rule before first accept rule on forward chain.

Make sure you still have another way to get to that device connected on that port or you will lock yourself out.

Where is that wireguard server located ? It's external IP needs to be reachable ... you need a dedicated route at all times usable for that since the default 0.0.0.0/0 will be used for something else later on.
