The network config does not look very good, everything is on the same bridge.
FWIW that is in most cases the advised way to setup things.

Can not comment on XQ+CM0000-XS but be advised S+RJ10 is known to get really hot.
You can not place them side by side nor top to bottom so you would loose about half your SFP-ports.

It all depends on the requirements and apart from VPN using Wireguard or IPSEC, none have been given. For both VPN options, all MT devices can do this (ROS7). Wireguard is always a SW solution. Some devices can use HW offload for IPSEC (depending on used encryption method). But even then some router...

One rationale I can think of: for the primary use of old Hex, meaning router towards ISP device with maximum speed of 500-600Mbps, this is effectively an upgrade. You can not add 1 + 1 and think to come out with 2 when talking about network speed.

Then 4 ports to switch chip with a 4Gb pipe to CPU.

If you have access to the device, reset to default config.
If firewall rules are still missing then, netinstall using latest stable version.

PS it's probably hAP AX lite LTE6 we're referring to here ?
hAP AC lite LTE6 doesn't exist.

Check product pages.

RB5009: 25W maximum with everything blazing.
AX3 can go up to 38W (mostly because of the wifi radios).

Look at it from another angle ... it's a passive cooled devices. No fans.
Normally they don't get really hot which means they don't use a lot of power.

RB5009 is 219 new, so 100 EUR is a hefty discount.

Normal reset will not solve this problem.

Latest ROS version (6 or 7, doesn't matter) and default firewall is already sufficient.
Netinstall it is then, if you want to be 100% sure.

And keep WAN port disconnected from your ISP modem until you're sure the device has been configured properly.

Upload and reboot.

PS the net result when restarting is also a reset. So why ask for the difference ?
Anyhow, you need to reboot. Not a simple reset.

Exactly.

There is always a bottleneck.
And if the choke point is someplace where you have zero control over, you're done. Nothing will help then unless you completely redesign the complete chain (at which point there will be another bottleneck elsewhere).

In my view, here is your problem:

The QCA9880 was not R11e-5HacT, but ordered on Amazon since QCA98xx should work on a MikroTik

Clearly it doesn't. Not when mounted on a non-Mikrotik PCIe card.

Conceptually I don't see any issues.
mAP, small as it may be, runs ROS so it's incredibly flexible in what it can do.
