Re: New mAP - no Ethernet connection

FWIW there have been issues with default capsman config in version 7.8. I remember it pretty well because I had 12 cAP AX coming with 7.8 off factory which I needed for capsman installation and there was no config !? So I had to immediately bring them to 7.10 (at that time beta or RC, don't recall a...

So you're saying that CAPsMAN can control AX devices even though the CAPsMAN host (hAP AC3) doesn't support 802.11ax and the controlled hAP AX will still operate as a WiFi6 device? Well, true enough. Unless the router is behind CGNAT...
Why not ?
You only go out then towards a device with public IP (dynamic or static) but it will still work.
Same with Zerotier BTW when it's behind CGNAT.

Using 7.13 beta ac2 can also use wifiwave2 drivers.
Ac3 was already able to do so.
And then it's all the same driver. The same capsman. The same fast transition settings.

What needs to be elaborated ?

It's ARM based so you can run zerotier on it.

And it does have wifi, in case you need it.
2.4GHz only but with a capable client you can reach 400Mbps.

Even more versatile, the LTE version.

Then add wifiwave2 again and finalize config.

Or use

When you go VLAN all-in (as in, no pvid 1 anymore), 2 small things you need to do on each AX cap:

- add vlan itf with pvid = mgmt and attach to bridge
- set discovery itf in caps to that VLAN itf

7.12.1 or older, no problem to add wifiwave2 package to CHR and use that one as capsman controller.
7.13 beta, capsman should be included already in base bundle. The whole wifiwave2 menu tree is from here labeled wifi.

In previous versions Winbox showed possibility for 20/40/80/160 as channel width on AX2 and AX3.

Just a word of caution: 80+80 is not the same as 160. And if I'm not much mistaken, ax2 doesn't support any of these variants. Correct. That chipset, also used in AX3 and cAP AX, is unable to go to 160MHz channel width (or any underlying combinations). Why the settings you see in Winbox/webfig do s...

Re: Can't get a DHCP address cAP ax

Side comment: personally I would increase lease times on some of those DHCP parts. 10m is too short for most (and it will cause unnecessary writes to flash each time a new lease is handed out) Guest wifi could be relatively shorter (1h), rest I would put at 4h, even 1d. Your port 10 is tagged vlan 99?
Then you need to add vlan 99 itf to bridge on cap.
Don't enable vlan filtering.
And set listen itf for cap to vlan99.
Then it should work.

If you want to do routing between ports of different pvid, the bridge needs to know about each of them.
If not, it passes simply by since the bridge can not " read" the packets.

That's my probably too simplistic understanding.

1- can you make a drawing how everything is connected because it's not clear to me ... 2- Since you changed base vlan (pvid=1) for that cap AX (I think ? Hence my question for a more clear picture), on cap ax you need to add VLAN133 interface as part of bridge. Don't enable VLAN filtering. Set DHCP ...

Please post actual config for both controller and cap.
Most likely you added something manually on cap, which depending on how you did provisioning, will take preference over config coming from controller.

Re: Hap AX Lite LTE6, use Ether1 as primary [SOLVED]

Correct. Because of the way routing and distance works. Routing engine will try to find where to send a packet to, if multiple options are present (in this case for 0.0.0.0/0) , the one with the lowest distance will be taken. If an interface is not usable, it will simply not be used by routing. So n...
