Re: Dude causing massive packet loss/disruption of service

did you look at the resource use on that device ? btw, I never run 2 totaly different functions on 1 device if that device is critical for production ... a router is critical, a monitor should run on a different device . By the way, a good point. Maybe, after all, the computer does not have enough ...

Re: Dude causing massive packet loss/disruption of service

Maybe you need to update the dude. A very strange problem. Have you noticed the dude freezes before losing data packets?

Possibly wrong connection sequence or wrong synchronization of two devices. Try to search the settings for synchronization.

I agree. It is extremely difficult to understand the code of another programmer, especially when this code is not canonical.

Re: Insert Image in Dude

You can do this with the "Static Network Element". Insert, right-click, select Appearance, select image (previously uploaded to the Dude), choose a proper scale for the image, select rectangle as shape and use white as color. -Chris Very easy and simple, I agree. At first I didn't figure ...

Re: Enable notification only on ping

I don't see the problem. Take the time to set up all the devices once and you will be happy. Why reinvent the wheel? You are here for sarcasm? You read before reply? >> but I really do not want to manually set it up on every device << I just want to understand what the difficulty is to do the job o...

Re: Mikrotik CHR speed performance problem

We have 4 memory sticks, and I have checked and no CPU core on the host is maxing during production traffic yet we still see packetloss Have You tried to pass traffic through the host server, to check if it's just the VM or both loosing packets? Have You pinned the VM CPUs to the host CPU cores? I ...

Re: CHR on Azure

This seems to be an issue that was either in RouterOS or Azure, but found this tidbit - Version 6.49beta36 has been released. Before an upgrade: 1) Remember to make backup/export files before an upgrade and save them on another storage device; 2) Make sure the device will not lose power during upgr...

Re: Use Dude to monitor linux server and/or Proxmox

This is not a dude issue, if you run a snmpwalk on your local machine you will probably see the same. You need to configure the snmpd on the machine that you want to monitor to show you more info. Default it just shows some basic info. Thanks for the recommendations. I managed to set it up, althoug...

Re: Very high sector writes

I have similar behaviour with my CAP ac since last couple releases (6.48.x). Used only as ap station with 3-5 clients, no DHCP, no graphing, no logging to disk. It looks like SNTP client is causing writes to flash - at the moment installed 6.48.2, SNTP client on - 6-8K wrtes per 24h, SNTP client of...

Not a bad idea, but the question is: does it put additional load on the equipment? Monitoring such activity also requires resources, and the question is how expedient it is.

I agree with mfrey. Also, I would try to specify a list of channels to connect so that the neighbor's router does not affect your device.
