do you use queues automatically set by ppp profile or radius ?
if yes -in the default used "default-small" set "Queue Size" to 50 packets or even higher

it is a release candidate for sure - but major things like Vlans should work....
and also with 5.24 we have even more sudden reboots of the boxes and no answers or fixes
and MT sell routers where you cant use a final ROS ( CCR )

after upgrade from rc13 no more connectivity via Vlan on RB1100AHx2 it is a shame that MT does not really test those releases !!! i would like to get some money for testing and wasting time with this buggy stuf ! it seems that Mikrotik OS gets worse from release to release sorry but i have enought !...

we have unplanned reboots with this release- just habbend again a few minuntes ago - on RB1100AhX2 used as pppoe concentrator and running in an OSPF network. 4 different boxes - even some without pppoe reboot - so it seems to be a software problem !!! the higest uptime we have is about 30 days - eve...

had the same problem with queues - but had them deactivated before upgrading - same happend - after upgrade from 5.21 to RC4 (RB1100AHx2)there have been 2 targed addresses at each queue - the second one that was added at the update is 0.0.0.0/0 - not a big problem on my testbox not so good in real ....

when you cahnge the input voltage of the board fan speed also changes
just found out today...
when running on 12V - internal power speed is about 3500 rpm, at the moment you plug in a pppoe supply with about 23V then fan speed gets upt to 7000 rpm...

i have a new problem since 2 days now we have 4x 750UP each powering 2 or 3 devices (ubnt rockets) on a tower that configuration has been running now for about 2 month without a problem - since 2 days now the rb750UP hang up - all of them a t the same moment !! we are still testing and only 3 custom...

you should have a look at the status of the interface - not the settings to see the real connection speed !!!
settings are set to auto negotiation - the speed setting there is for nothing..
as you write that you have a 1 Gbit IF then you might also have gbit connection !!

just upgraded a production link in our network with beta6 und R52Hn cards
built in Huber&Suhner 23 Antennas using only 1 channel about 13 KM
seems to work fine ;-))
getting up to 35 Mbit with conservative settings and low power setting
also latency is very low...
waiting for finals....

i think i have the same problem here with a usb huawei E169 as long it is connected to 1 cell it works
on changeing between cells it seems to hung up
only powercycle helps - watchdog doesnb not !
first i thougt the powersupply on the usb port is not strong enough but now i am not so sure anymore...

first time the dynamic policies have not been deleted
after SA flush the connecetion got up again
after next iprenew the dynamic policies have been deleted and a new SA has been stared
but no policies haven been built....

why dont you use routerboards ?
or just test your mainboards before putting them into production ??
mt cant test all mainboards on the market if their os runs on them
and simply dont use a ros version that makes problem with your hardware

copy the files you can download onto your router via winbox ond then do an "Import" of that file on the local console this keeps the syntax. we have seen problems when you just copy and paste the script into the script editor. and dont forget to set the sceduler to start the ups script eve...

we use aradial with ms-sql backend and have a self built implementation into microsoft NAV ( Navison)
with fully atomated billing (volume and bandwith based internetconnects including automated billing of overtraffic) and complete voip billing from an ansterisk log file ....

you only can use about 80% of the daylight - as long as your panels are fixed
the pax power of a solar panel is alwas given with 25°C panel temteratur - when they get hotter the
output goes down
only about 65 to 70% of the energy is loaded int the battery ...

the problem is that with radar dedection there are also channesl choosen that the clients can't connect because they cant change thair channels in 5mhz steps !!!!!

we are running 2.9.50 and 3.x witn nearly no problem ...
only had to reboot x86 with 2.9.50 as id did not want to change routes when ospf said..
now its running ok since 2 weeks and has benn running before for about 5 month
problmes where only when i had been playing around too much....
but no OSPF V3

we have changed back to 2.9.51 on all off the 1xx boards we are running. it seems that they cannot handle the load and are allways close to 100% load and then reboot. but on all other boards 3.x is running ok .... we had slight troubels with some rb 532 upgraded from 2.9.s versions - but after reset...

same problems here.... the only stable version on our rb 1xx is 2.9.xx none of the 3.x are running as we would like or they should do.... i think the boards have not enough cpu power as they allways go up to 100% load on doing nearly nothing, only 1 rb52 with 1 or 2 clients and no noise imunity acti...

we had a simmilar problem with a rb532r5 here - the board was running fine on 3.4 until ip upgraded it to 3.10 it startetd to reboot every 10 to 20 minutes - we did a downgrade - same problem still.... as the log showed that the board was rebootet by the watchdog i turned the watchdog of nice result...

why dont you use a mikrotik system as dude server - that is much easier and does not make any troubels....
vista does has many voodoo things for using it reliabe monitoring system...
also the mt licence is cheaper then a vista home version .....

hi we also have rb532 and rb 230 running on ros 3.x that reboot once in a while, they never did with ros2.x !! sometimes the while is shorter somtimes longer... but normaly there is no entry in the logs or any supout file.... some other boards run without problmes - so i think that is just a softwar...

the module is tiny - a bit larger then a wireless module - should fit with a short serial cable and when you put only the 2 pairs of the network cable with data into the rj45 plug an the other 2 pairs (blue=+/brown=-) into a plug for the powerjack you have won ... or just use a rj45 double connector...

hi you cant monitor the voltage directly but you can messure the input voltage - if you split it from poe and just plug it in into the power jack should work with our module that you can plug into the serial port a new version oft the voltage/temp control script will be postet on wiki in e few days ...

we use powersupplies that have a batt charger/ups function and also have a low voltage cut off http://www.meanwell.com/search/AD-55/default.htm and for this we bult a small box that monitors batt voltage, line voltage and temperatur it also regualtes a fan up to 12V/20W of power this thing talks to ...

a good solar charge controller should have a undervoltage cut of we built a smal thing that can monitor the line voltage/ batt voltage and temp in connection with a small powersupply that has a charger for a battery included we use these as powersupplies with monitoring for our stations it also work...

that is the problem - not to set ccontry - so we cant use frequencies allowed in austria in G an A band
the card uses USA channel settings
2412 to 2462 only - not higher can be used

but only "smart ups" are supported not the old ones wich only had a sort of "sigwatch" output and there is no need to power a routerboard with at least a 700VA ups wich is the smalles APC product supporting serial smart protokol !! tha produces only heat and wastes battery energy...

i have the same problem here on differnet versions of 2.9 - if i set the start time to the actual date then it normaly works until i reboot the box
then no more scedueled script is started - after setting the date back to the actual date it works again ...

we tried it with dynamic settings, and with new rb532 boards new cards and allways the card in the bottom socket hast the problems....
this happens only to boards from the last delivery we got
never seen this on boards that are running for month now

is it possible to generate 2 fifferent bandwith queues with on pppoe login via radius attributes ?
one of the queues should be for standard internetaccess and the other one just to connect to the voip server with hight priority ?

or has anybody a better idea how to manage this dynamically ?

i have seen this today also - i added a script to send config export and backupfile via e-mail every night from a few of my routers thos things came twice !! i´ll give it a look tomorrow gain - and chek it with the os versions as they are different from box to box today they are allready deleted ;-((

the problem is that the client does not really bridge everything - so only one pppoe session is working, we had those problems allready it might work when using standard ip entries, but not with pppoe packets. i think that the tiny arp-proxys in those devices are not able to handle anythig else then...

we use radius authentication for our wireless clients.
is there a possibility to make the mikrotik box to cache positive or negative authentications for lets say 30 minutes ?
so that it does not flood the radius with the same request again and again ?

amps can help on ptp links for sure if you also use high gain antennas !!
but on AP / ptmp installations they are useless - only produce problems
we tried it out a few years ago .....

if you use good wireless hardware on both ends (antennas, cabels and cards) then everyting works trouble free !

if you think that you can seal the box 100% then you are wrong !!! the box is breathing - the air expands when it is warmer and and collapses when it gets colder - so if there is no hole then the air comes through maybee the antenna or the powercabel - but it for sure comes in somewhere as averybody...
