Re: Omnitik: loss of sxt-slaves connectivity (3 seconds)

I had very similar issues using the OmniTIK PG-5HacD and several SXT G-5HPacD r2 as bridged clients. The SXT radios would connect with very high CCQ. Then slowly the CCQ would degrade and then they would all disconnect and reconnect. I tried changing channels and reducing TX power but it actually ma...

Reduce the number of data rates advertised by your AP.

example
basic-rates-a/g=36Mbps,48Mbps,54Mbps
supported-rates-a/g=36Mbps,48Mbps,54Mbps

I have had better performance when increasing antenna gain instead of decreasing TX power.
Example change antenna-gain=2 to antenna-gain=6
This will decrease the transmit power correctly for all the data rates.

I would simply bridge the two radios. No need to increase the license level. One of the radios should be in station-bridge mode, the other radio should be bridge mode. Make sure all the interfaces are in the same bridge. Please view the link below for more detailed information. https://wiki.mikrotik...

Re: diversity : again. does it work or not?

Diversity antenna systems are used to deal with multipath issues such as fading and reflections. The wider the horizontal spacing the better, to a point. The dBm calculations for each antenna must be exactly the same or it defeats the purpose of diversified antennas.

Diversity does work but you must use identical antenna specs for both the aux and main. Since only one ant. can tx/rcv at a time, there is no signal drop using the additional antenna.
