I used Netinstall 5.1. It just tries the bootp protocol for a period of time and then says "kernel loading failed". Then it restarts and tries again. Only Ether2 shows a link when I plug a cable from my computer into it.. Ethers 1 & 3 appear to be dead.

1. yes, it goes up to 6Ghz
2. yes, and it also supports 5MHz
3. yes, it supports nv2

Well, I would always welcome something priced lower, but I would prefer a higher powered card included at the same price level than a lower price for the current powered card. The last time I tested (a year or so ago), they would not connect to each other, but Ubiquiti products, (NS2's, LS2's and PS2's) would connect to either one of them in cloaking mode. Go figure.

I have installed them in 3 places where the customer was close to the AP. They have worked well in all three locations. No support calls from the customer. I wish they supported 5 and 10 Mhz channels, but they do not.

This same thing happened to me last week with an SR9 setup. The client quit working, and when I visited the client site and did a scan, it showed three frequencies from the SR9 at the AP. I changed the client card out and it started working normally again. So, your XR3 card may be bad.

One of my RB333's started locking up every 10 minutes today, almost to the second. The only way to fix it was to power it off for around 15 seconds and then turn it back on again. I tried removing some of the cards, turning off the watchdog, changing the password (thinking Dude might be affecting it...

Trying switching to a 24db grid and to a Ubiquity XR2. Raise the antenna up as high as possible. Hopefully, that will get you a 10+ db gain and a salvaged client.

hmm... Everytime I tried to test it, even when the Mini PCI card was not hooked up to an antenna, it would think it was finding a radar on every channel. I wonder why it does that for me and the earlier poster, but not for you?

I doubt it. You should go with a higher voltage power supply. I use 15v 1.2 amp on cable runs of less than 75 feet and they work well.

The problem is probably that you are maxing out your CPU. If it is at 80% to begin with, doing bandwidth tests will likely max it out. I have a new Celeron MB that I am testing with just one radio that maxes out the CPU when I do a bandwidth test running at 66 Mb/sec.

That did it! I lowered my signal strength down to around -40 and achieved 66 meg. At least, when the Intel machine was sending the data. The Via machine could only push around 57 meg. Both showed 100 CPU usage when they were sending the data.

I was having problems with Senao CB3 wireless bridges and DLink DWL-810+ wireless bridges. The Senao CB3 uses a Prism PCMCIA card just like the ones supported by MT.

Would it be possible to put the IP address of the client on the main page of the registration table, instead of having to click on the client listing to find it? This is a hassle when you are doing tech support, trying to find the connection of the particular client. I thought I remember seeing this...

Problems with Prism in Beta

When using the v2.9beta14 and Prism cards in the AP mode, a significant minority of my wireless customers would not connect. I downgraded to 2.824 and the problem went away. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or is there a fix to it?

I have not done it myself, but seem to remember reading a post on this or another forum where someone was saying he was successfully running WDS on a Senao CB3 and a Mikrotik Router.

I don't think you will be able to bridge with a non-WDS AP. The only possibility would be to do Ethernet over IP from your local Routerboard to another MT router on upstream somewhere.

Does anyone have a source for DS3 PCI cards that work with Mikrotik? A guy posted something on the mailing list a number of months ago that he had some for $200, but he did not respond to my recent email.
