Re: v6.49 [stable] is released!

Hello, I've currently no idea of what sfp-rate-select does exactly (except that it uses a different pin on the module, whatever it could mean). I've asked Mikrotik support for precisions. About the "best" setting to use, my answer would be: if it works, keep current setting. If not, meani...

Re: v6.49 [stable] is released!

SFP rate low/hi is state on a specific SFP slot pin. Actual function depends on specific SFP module model and should be noted in a documentation/datasheet. There is no standardized meaning what low and high mean, that's up to the SFP manufacturer to define. Thank you. So If I don't know, how to set...

jbfavre:
What is the difference please? SFP rate.low/high..Is it type of bitrate, or frequency on input SFP? And the rate is on every brand different?

Re: v6.48.5 [long-term] is released!

To Moba: Nobody, but find good HW is very hard. I don't need router with wifi, so almost every router has wifi part. I wanted strong router, but also a good software on it. So I choosed mikrotik, but I don't know, how buggy is. I still hoping, it will be better... If I buy router around 200USD, I al...

Re: v6.48.5 [long-term] is released!

That is stretching the reality by quite some lengths beyond imagination. I do run small and big networks based on Mikrotik and hardly can recall any bug impacting the network, performance wise there are things I wish they can do better, but bugs to bring down a network? Not any I can think of. I me...

Re: v6.48.5 [long-term] is released!

@winap All these original firmware on devices like Linksys, Asus, Tplink just suck. Always bubbly weird customer oriented webinterfaces. After years you have a whole a lot of security concerns running these devices with their many years outdated software. no, these devices suck out of the box. Open...

Re: v6.48.5 [long-term] is released!

When you buy TPLink you may get 1 or 2 updates in the lifecycle of the device. Then it is EOL. The reason to buy "crap" from TPLink, Asus and Co. is simply: when such a device has OpenWrt support - then you get a well performing device for cheap with some futureproof opensource firmware o...

Re: v6.48.5 [long-term] is released!

Try to compare the functionality and what they can do. The other does not even reach to knees of RouterOS in number of function compared to price. Everyone is free to select what they like best. I do love RouterOS... Mikrotik has more options, yes...But only non functionality feature! Tell me...If ...

Re: v6.49 [stable] is released!

Hey Mikrotik, When I looked on some threads, you make very basic bugs in every new firmware...Is this normal programming? Because when I buy some crap Asus, TP-Link...it has more stable firmware, than this... In my view you don't understand, what you programming or what is some function for...Becaus...

Re: v7.1rc4 [development] is released!

No, you can't make a backup. regarding the "how buggy" It depends what you want to do, in the normal "home/office" use case, it should be fine. I did not have any issues with mine on both RB5009 and RB4011 when using rc4. I'm using IPv4/IPv6 with firewall, OSPF, Wireguard and Ze...

Re: v7.1rc4 [development] is released!

It looks that the firmware is included in the software itself. If Mikrotik has removed previous versions then their is no way back or you have ask others here if they have they have that earlierversion for you. I have still 7.0.5, because I don't know, how buggy is 7rc4..So I only want to know, how...

Re: v7.1rc4 [development] is released!

I've asked support for the "stable" rOS, the reply was that the rc4 was more stable than the 7.0.5(it seems that it is not that stable) that came with it. but I haven't got any bugs with it for now. Hi, Thank you so much..They didn't say that to me.. I ask, is this a normal version only r...

Re: v7.1rc4 [development] is released!

Hello, I am new here...I have a question, how can I get FW from my routerboard RB5009? Because from support I don't have any answer, what I want. They only told me, so I can download via downloads from mikrotik.. In rourerboard is v7 stable. But if I reinstall to 7rc4, there is no chance to turn bac...
