so i can test it on my own risk? coz on 4.17 the wireless link disconnects from time to time (only 1 end is PC, other is 435GL). I mean, the feature is there but you cvan not guarantee if it is going to work perfectly? I am willing to test it becouse it does not work the right way at the moment....s...

When RouterOS v5 came out, there was no support for Nv2 on x86 system.

Is it still that way?

After 3 years of using mikrotik for wireless links only i decidet to switch my Slackware linux with RouterOS.
Can you give me a hint about what do you guys filter on your machines? Which ports and why?

what do you mean not using WDS.
I have a link with R52n with EoIP tunnel. If i use WDS is it going to drop some throughput?

Use N mode..
I have a stable link with 2x RB433AH + R52n cards - 5km distance - 95mbits real speed.
If you have more than 150 clients n the other side of the link , consider using RB800 or a P4 machine.

Hmmm...no improvement. It seems that the best outgoing traffic from the wireless card is 11-12 mbits. It is strange as i remember 4-5 years ago i used 2x Edimax APs on 5km link and managed to pass 16mbits ptp...i hope that the CPU of the board will handle the same traffic or better :( Anyways, thank...

As i told you before, you have a hardware problem.
And your signals are not the same...so you have a problem with 1 side of the link.
Check antennas, Cables and cards (change them! ).
Nothing wrong with elevation...just change the equipment.

Well...here is picture of 5km backhaul link with 2 60cm solid dish antennas and R52N cards on RB433AH

I reached better speed with 90cm dish :)

Just use the freaking frequency!
I used compilance test in the 6th biggest city in bulgaria with no worries and 5ghz superchannel in a smaller town.
I doubt somebody is going to find out :P

You may have a problem with 1 of the antennas... for 900m it is possible to see each other without antenna (cable only) Try changing one of the antennas and then other. I advice you to place more directional antennas (grid or dish. That way you have more antenna gain and you can make really good res...

And what antennas do you use on 8km link?
I use 60cm dishes but seems to be too small for that distance (5km)
I ordered 90cm and i am waiting for them now.... hope it helps to improve signals and CCQ.

Same with me...20-30-40ms ping on a 5km link. The links works good and suddenly collapses totally to 12-24mbits rates. After some time it regains previous state. i was really disappointed with the results... Tomorrow i will place the antennas higher and test for a last time. Hope for some improvemen...

I recently upgradet to v 4.5 from 3.25 but after reading alot of posts with Nstreme problems i decidet to downgrade.
surprisingly i Can't! The device (RB433AH) Reboots and NOTHING! Still v4.5

I mean I want to enable HT-extension but at the moment outside is snowing and i can't mount another antennas on the roof. Is it going to raise my speeds. had the same problem and reached only 600kb/s :)
CPU was 100%

u know how i solved it??? bought 2 x RB333 :). its expencive but it works great and it worth the money. THANKS MIKROTIK :)

yes i did RB to RB bandwith test. it shows 20mbits+. maybe there is a local issue that i will check in a few minutes. i started frequency-usage to check if there are other 5ghz wireless networks and found only 1. i will post the result after the test i am going to make. thx u guys. maybe after that ...

Well...just planted the card :) signal levels -50/-49 bandwith test shows 21-24mbits on UDP. real speed i reach by downloading from 1 server to the other = 1.3mb/s REALLY NOT ENOUGH. Changed channels later...almost no effect. any ideas??? clear line of sight...just 5km. 2x RB333 2x350mlw cards band ...

OK...changed channels...the best i could manage to reach is 600kb/s and good ping (i mean acceptable for now...) but i need MORE bandwith :). 1 thing i noticed is that link works only at 5180 - 5280 MHZ... if i try 5700 it will not connect...is this becouse of 1 of the cards...(one of them is not at...

well...ping gets higher whe bandwith is transferred coz u fill up the actual speed your APs can reach... Yes i DID. But i am afraid about the PANEL antenna...is it possible? And maybe thi 4 meters long cable to the SATELITE antenna and the 3 meters cable to the PANEL antenna...?!!?! I a sure they can take much ore traffic...coz the test i made at home reached 24mbits one way. If i have half of this i w...

And i forgot... signal levels -67dbm/-80dbm (i am really a newby here and dont know much about all this but the links sometimes connects on 18mbits/12mbits and the rates must improve :) ) other problem is that even with low traffic passing between the RBs. ping is between 10-30. Aboslutley CLEAN line of sight...but a tested the connection in my room before deplying the RBs and i accomplished 20-24mbits traffic...I wonder is the problem in the Panel antenna or in the Cables connecting the RBs to the Antennas... I think that if the traffic can reach 24mbits in my room...it ca...

Thanks for the help CarulloS. I did the connection before I read the post but thanks anyways :) i use bridge for AP and station for CLIENT. both boards are with EoIP interface and a Bridge between ether1 and EoIP.

Hope this conf. helps other people in situation like me :)
