Because of the damaged infrastructure during the war some 60-70% of internet access services are provisioned via MT which means that 90% of ISP-s are using or have used MT further implying that anyone in KS can help you with this. 1. Bandwidth description is very helpful, e.g. if you have a 100mbps interface but it is giving only 512kbps why should the interface appear as 100mb when you config the MRTG graph or similar (even if you can do it manually).
2. Interface flaps (down/up) should be available via snmp.

Well just a fast thought. Other vendors support classifying traffic on application layer based on regular expr eg. classify a specific http url like /html/bin/business and /html/flashgame and give more priority to first than second. Or classify traffice based on MIME types or you can even match a vi...

I think it is very stupid that there are no statistics for ethernet interfaces like collisions,errors etc. Are there plans to fix this. I saw a user (forum) detecting high number of collisions just because he had a cisco router attached to the network.

The following are all symptoms of a framing or related clocking problem:

* Frame errors
* CRC errors
* Interface and/or line protocol down

Since you`ve replaced the ethernet adapters you can try the cables. Layer2 problems can be difficult to solve.

bandwidth description

When it will be possible to add a bandwith description for various interfaces and attach this description to snmp oid?

When an NMS will poll interfaces and draw graphs it will be based on the bandwidth description not on default values g.eg for ethernet which is 100M common.

Why don`t you use perl and make a script which telnets to the router and gets that number. You just put this script as input to the mrtg config file. If you don`t do programming tell me which command is used to get that number and i will put a simple script in the forum.
